POR/NOH/MEM 3-team tiebreaker?

Hollinger's Playoff Odds predicts today that Portland, NO and Memphis will all end up with a 47-35 record.

I found these tiebreakers for more than 2 teams on NBA.com (dated 2010):

Playoff tiebreaker reference guide
More than two teams (top 5)
1. Division winner
2. Record in games among tied teams.
3. Record against teams in own division (if tied teams are in same division)
4. Record against teams in own conference.
5. Record against playoff teams eligible in own conference

So I was wondering what are the combined records of each team against the other two so far (2nd tiebreaker)? I don't have time now to look all this up, maybe someone can check it. If it comes down to this, our game against Memphis could still be huge.

New Orleans is 2-1 against Memphis with 1 game left to play
New Orleans is 3-1 against Portland

Even if Memphis wins both games against Portland/New Orleans, they'll be 4-3 combined, while New Orleans will be 5-3. Hornets have the tie-breaker in a three-team tie.

If we beat Memphis when we play them we would have the tiebreaker on them so we would face #2 Lakers not spurs.

Wow it's crazy how the bottom 3 and the top 3 are so close. Obviously with the Laker loss and SAS win, SAS is a sure lock for #1, but 2 games ago it was much closer. Does anyone even remember the seedings being so close? I don't.

Last year was much closer. The 2-5 seeds were all within 2 games of each other, and the 2 seed (Dallas) was only 2 games back of the Lakers. At the bottom of the standings, we finished tied with the Spurs and Thunder at 50 wins each. In all, the difference between the 1 & 8 seeds was 7 games; this year that's the difference between 1st & 3rd.

Yeah, you're right... should have been pretty obvious to me that the 3-team tiebreaker only decides the winner, then the other 2 are broken up with the head-to-head. There are so many scenarios still, it's making my head spin.

Now that I'm thinking about it - if we had the choice as to "when" we were to face the Lakers - are we better off facing a Laker team in round one...or playing them for the Western Conference Championship?

I think the later we play them, the better. Stern cares about ratings, and we're one of the franchises no one cares about. By the time the WCF came around, if we were to make it that far, we'd be a nice Cinderella story (No Oden, Roy's return, the Crash trade, etc.). At that point, Stern may let the refs give us a fair shake.
