Well I'm still down to play at 4 at Powell Park (or anywhere else) despite our weekly flake outs!

Who else is going to be there?

Wearing masks and covering faces is a public safety issue and should be banned as well.

Its clearly so antifa can commit assault and not be identified .
Im at the brink of wanting to go myself. First antifa fuck who sprays something into someones face without violent provocation ill knock straight out and call the police for a citizens arrest. Then when they don't show, ill sue the fuck out of the city.

No green font here.

Shits got to stop.
If they want violence its just around the corner. Eventually the people wanting their city back will amass and then we will have full anarchy in the streets.
Who will win that? The ones with the guns. Thats who. Not saying that should be right or wrong but its obviously what they want. I say why delay the inevitable.
Lets clash and get it over with.

I move away in part because of shit like this continuing to escalate. When do we reach our limits???

Now there is a new slogan. Fuck the police. Not because they harass. Because they wont do their fucking jobs....

The Proud Boys were there dressed in full riot gear. Do you think they were looking for trouble? Do they have a non violent reputation?

Sorry Lanny.

When you post video evidence of the proud boys masking their faces and attacking innocent reporters without provocation, ill digress.

Until then, your questions hold zero merit.

They are there because of the lawlessness of antifa. No antifa, no proud boys.

Note how this violence has escalated ever since Trump became President.

It must have been 20 years ago when my niece had a large 40 year birthday party for her husband at the Heathman Hotel on a night when President Bush 43 was meeting with a myriad of Republican big whigs in the Hilton Hotel, kitty corner from the Heathman. There was a Left leaning crowd waiting to demonstrate massing in the park blocks near the Heathman. Police set up a roadblock preventing the crowd from getting anywhere near the Hilton. My nephew-in-law was vice president of CH2MHill at the time so all the attendees were dressed in suits or sport coats and slacks. We passed by the massing protesters who couldn't have been more polite to us conservative looking birthday party attendees. Even the police were polite to us and moved their barricade to the side to allow us to pass to gain entrance to the Heathman. At the party we sort of mixed in the outer rooms from the two 2nd floor banquet rooms that we had made arrangements for a catering. It was then and there that I met and had a long talk with Senator Hatfield while my wife talked with his wife, Antoinette. There was eventually a riot between the police and the protestors right below the window of one of our banquet rooms.

Now, the protests are getting worse. I wonder if people are dissatisfied with Trump and his violent henchmen.
You can’t blame anti-trump people committing violent acts on Donald Trump. That is the most rudimentary and poorly thought argument one could make. We all know Trump is an ass, but people need to be held accountable for their own actions. Don’t make excuses for people committing violent crimes.

Who cares... seriously.

If you don't give a sh*t when this type of stuff happens to them, then you don't really give a crap about this at all... seriously.

Ah......it all makes me nostalgic for the politics and demonstrations of the late 60’s in downtown Portland. Nice to see how far we’ve actually traveled culturally in the past 50 years......

Portland police are worthless and Ted Wheeler is a fucking pussy. Is this a PR stunt? Why the fuck are city officials standing around with their dicks in their hands letting adult-children assault people? It has to be all for show, little Portland trying to show the bigger cities how progressive they are.

Watching people get hurt is not progressive.

So that makes it right to break the law, attack journalists and create public disturbances on a regular basis???

I dont like this president, so im gonna go attack a conservative journalist Nd wear a mask to hide my identity??????

The irrational justification for their behavior boggles my mind.

Interesting theory... the protests were at their very worst just hours and days after he was elected. Blocking freeways and destroying property. These protests created groups like the proud boys.

Proud boys started all of this shit. It's these racist fucks that need to stop coming to this city.

What? No........ the weekly Trump protests that destroyed property and shut down the city were what drew the Proud Boys here. Antifa made this a battle ground. The proud boys showed up weeks/months after the initial Trump protests that went on for days after the election.

Just so we are clear, I am not defending or supporting ANTIFA. Just like I am not defending or supporting the Proud Boys. I do support the rights of both groups to protest non-violently.

I can not ever recall a protest that did not intentional interrupt the rights of other people. Intrusively or disruptively, if not violently.

It’s all disgraceful. Period. Both sides. Angers me beyond words that our shitty police and mayor stand and watch. Disregarding the 99% of the population around here who are sick of this embarrassment.

I worked there then. Let's see, ah yes, Governor McCall was elected, a pretty big deal. I don't remember any hassles though.
