The Metro on broadway. Current location of Columbia Sports. Sunken food court where everyone was smoking, eating really shitty food and reading willamette week. Being under 21 back then, it was like the only thing to do in downtown PDX. I loved that place. Truly quintessential old PDX

Quest nightclub prior to being 21, Upfront FX after 21.

Hung Far Low in NW PDX. Was moved to Division, might still be open, but nothing was cooler than Hung Far Low in NW.

Shakers cafe in the Pearl. None of you will remember Shakers. Best Turkey Burger ever. I worked down there in the mid 90's. It was called the pearl but believe me, there was nothing pearl about it. Warehouses, gravel parking lots, and used rubbers. It was beautiful.

The Portland Buckaroos, the Portland Beavers, the Carnival and Hippopotamus restaurants. Goldberg’s Deli, The Speck, my grandparent’s house in the pre I-5 days (now the site of the Failing St. pedestrian overpass), Multnomah Kennel Club, Rose’s, Sylvia’s, Quality Pie, The (actual) Bomber.........man it sucks getting old.
The Speck...In HS I pumped gas a Toms Gulf just kiddy corner. It was great all the chicks would come in to gas up and I would check their oil, air tires, etc. just to get aquatinted.
Then there was the Pink Bucket close by too.

It was. Their fry sauce was actually, funny, groundbreaking (ketchup and mayo). It was the bomb back then.

The last one I saw was on 162nd and division. Its a smoke shop now.

Man. The stairwell up to the restaurant almost always had a drug addict or homeless person camping out. Then you walked into the neon lit awful restaurant, and in the corner of the restaurant was a dark cavern of goodness.

The one on division got tore down...I don't about that one

I grew up playing hockey. Spent a TON of time on that ice rink.

I skated there too. Went to the arcade there...Tilt...the movie theatre...loved the pretzels at Pretzel Maker...Auntie Anne' just doesnt do it for me.

Skipped a lot of high school in that mall

Lover's Lane on Mount Scott!

Hard Up Alley on Mount Tabor!

Mall 205 when it was still full of stores, and Eastport Mall. Really good memories with my grandma at both.
Games People Play arcade on 82nd. Wish I could remember more about it.
Riding bikes or rollerblading from Montavilla to CTC on the 205 trail and not encountering a single bum. There were also some cool dirt trails opposite of Rocky Butte that we would check out.
The Organ Grinder.
Putt-Putt Golf on 122nd and Stark.
Senn's Drive-In Dairy on 102nd and Glisan.
Farrell's at 122nd and Halsey, although I'm fine with Chang's Mongolian Grill being there now.
Stark Street Pizza; so glad this is still around.

Boc's on 37th and Broadway and Yaws on 40th and US Grant Pl. Ditlers Beach on Marine Drive when you could actually park on both sides to go over the bank and down to the beach. The Funny Farm on Hwy 26. Actually met my wife there. Mrs. A's s ssd urf shop on Powell and Pacific Sporting Goods downtown as both had great selection of Water Skis and accesories.

Benjamin's Steakhouse. Gotta get dat Steak Benjamin!
