Portland (Most likely) won't trade for a ball dominating guard

OK. So the Suns are in 'win now' mode and would not be likely to give up Nash. Makes perfect sense. The thing is, they aren't going to win it this year with that team. So...after the season...I would not discount the possibility of KP recruiting Nash to run our team -- IF that is something KP decided to do.

This is fun! I love being a Blazers fan. :ghoti:

The Bulls would be lucky to get LaFrentz straight up for Hinrich. I have faith Pritchard will get Portland a much better player than Hinrich with LaFrentz contract.

Really?

When Hinrich was in a system like the one Nate runs he was a guy who was thought of as one of the best young PG's in the league.

I'm not saying he can get back there, but it's not like we are talking about some D league player here. When healthy Hinrich probably becomes our second best guard as soon as he passes a physical.

So that leaves Blake. If we continue to play pretty crappy for 3 or 4 more games, I bet we see Nate shake things up in a big way by benching Blake and moving Rodriguez into the starting position.

And there you go, we start the ball dominating guard we won't trade for.

I like Sergio w/ the 2nd unit, but his inability to shoot when Roy gets him wide open 3s (like Blake) and his inability to play off the ball just wouldn't work in the starting unit w/ LMA and Roy ,imo.

I REALLY like Sergio for Oden though. And while he plays well w/ Rudy... very well... I think Rudy would eventually play better w/o him because it would allow him to turn into the playmaker rather than a shooter/alley oop reciever.

Yeah, brother! That is what I was saying. Totally agree.

I don't think he was ever considered one of the best young point guards. That would put him with Paul, Williams, Harris, and Calderon. He's never even come close to approaching that level. And nobody cares what he did 3-5 years ago. He hasn't done squat for two seasons now. On top of that he's got a huge contract. His trade value is just slightly higher than Marbury.

Hinrich was on the all defensive first team I believe (might have been second), and was part of a great young Bulls core that won 49 games. He was considered one of the best young guards in the league 2 years ago. But he never deserved that title, I agree. Ben Gordon was massively underrated. Gordon was the key reason the Bulls returned to form as a playoff team, but he never got credit for it, Kirk Hinrich got the bulk of the credit for that, even though it was undeserved.

And besides that, I put Luol Deng in that first post. Luol Deng for Raef Lafrentz and Portland's war chest. Luol Deng's name just kind of disappeared from the post, similar to how Luol disappears during the fourth quarter of every game.
