Portland Naked Bike Ride is Tomorrow Night

Welcome to our community

An absolute farce of an event. Then again, this is Portlandia.

At the Portland Art Museum there will also be a new exhibit opening all about bikes. Should be real interesting, and they are letting in the public starting at 7pm and nudes are welcome in, cost $2. I'm not doing it this year, need to lose weight before I'd take my shirt off in public. But hopefully this time next year ill be riding schlong to he wind.

Why is it a farce?

In my ever so awesomely humble opinion, public nakedness and its ilk is inhumane, utterly ridiculous, and an overall detriment to society as a whole.

That's why. :)

I see, on the other hand there's my argument.... You're wrong!:MARIS61:

I could have also gone with the following argument..... BOOBS!

I live in the Portland area because of these fun social things. Whether I participate in them or not is irrelevant, but I like the effort. I can't do it this year because of family obligations, but I have no problem with it, and want to help promote it in any small way.

I am definitely going. It is a good way to get out of your comfort zone and night when there are soooooo many people naked, you can kind of blend in and forget about negative feelings about your own body.

Basket Case!!!! We were literally handed out barf bags when my friends and I had somebody's older brother buy us tickets to this when we were in middle school. What a hilarious movie!!! It was Scream without the snark.

Yet again, I'm appalled at you guys. Yeesh.

Hahahahahahahahaha!

ABM is appalled by this thread. You're a good man, ABM. No need to mock those of us who are socially liberal, though.

Read your sig, then learn the game, son.

Went out to lunch with co-workers today.

We see a beautiful gal, early-20's, with very short, tight white shorts. We were all very enthralled. One of them starts talking about how much he loves summertime. Not two minutes later, a fat chick wearing a skimpy dress baring her un-Grand Canyon(s) walks by. I'm like, "she's not familiar with gravity is she? I don't like seeing those things touch their knees (unless it's while doing a dance or on a pole)."

You take the good with the bad sometimes.

I figure it's the way a lot of things are. I've seen the bike ride. There's some eye-candy, and there's some, "hey good for you and your confidence, but my eyes are burning."

I grew up swimming naked with my friends and family, its healthy to not have that hangup imo

Naked doesn't mean sexual, once you realize that it takes a lot of the stigma away from it

I went to The University of Michigan and on the final day of classes, there was a nude run through campus that night. It's a huge event. Lots of people run and lots of people watch (and film it!). I did it my last two years there. I enjoyed it. As it was said, there are so many naked people around you that you don't feel uncomfortable and as you run through the crowd and into the law library, it's a great feeling to throw your inhibitions out the window. Afterwards, the first year, I felt so comfortable, I've could've walked around all night and for the rest of time. Same feeling when I go to nude beaches. I feel like I could be comfortable never wearing clothes again. I don't see why ABM think it's inhumane. It's not about public sex or anything. It's just about being comfortable with how God made you. After all, Adam and Eve were fine about being naked until punished by God. That's old news though. Isn't that punishment over by now? Obviously, it is, because many of us don't feel ashamed anymore.
