Portland ranks 22nd in Monocle Magazine's list of most livable cities.

Buy it if you can find it. Its a great magazine. They take a lot of pretty sensible things into account, a lot better than most of the other lists out there.

I think Honolulu is the only other american city in there....Vancouver is there too.

Monocle is kind of a stuffy, yuppie type of magazine. They probably based their poll on someone living in the Pearl District or some other "revitalized" neighborhood. They probably left out a majority of the slummy parts of town.

The statistics for suicides are greatly increased due to the assisted suicide law that Oregon has.

I have to disagree with Honolulu located as high as 13th. Even above Vancouver? Nice place to visit, but I can't wait to move back home.
