Portland vs Cleveland, St Patty's Day 2011 - Game Thread!

I bet the coach of the Blazers did one of these after that:smiley-pat:

It was an homage to former Blazer Damon Stoudamire. His specialty was 23 seconds of pointless dribbling followed by a forced low percentage shot. Rudy's impression of him is the best I've seen.

BNM

LOL @ him getting defensive about it. He needs to get called on that because he is always slow as molasses when clearing the bench.

But that said, this was a sweet play that I can't believe happened in the MIDDLE of an NBA game. A three man weave drill. Ha!

I tell you what......... that was probably one of the BEST replays I've ever seen in my life!

Loved It, Blazers put on a clinic. Should make some good scouting tape for the rest of the league.

This clip says it all about this TEAM, Defense followed by unselfishness. It sure rocked the RG tonight.

From ESPN:

Woof. I remember that game... painful to listen to on the radio.

I was AT that game. I was living in Chicago and we had beaten the Bulls in an amazing game at United, so I drove to Indianoplace to watch my Blazers continue to roll. Man, that was a LOOOONG drive back to Chi-town.

I felt so bad for the Cavs fans tonight, I posted on the Cavs forum saying there isn't a team we would want to blow out less. Poor Cleveland deserves better and it just makes me hate LeBron all the more.

Oh, I have insomnia, and guess what just came on at 2:30 AM Mountain? I get to watch it again! Right now it's 21-2 about to go to 24-2.

Ah, but does anyone remember the previous Blazers game? If I'm not mistaken, it was a win over the soon-to-be 72-win Chicago Bulls in Chicago, and we started to think that Damon Stoudamire would lead us to the promised land!

[Edit: I see maxiep beat me to it.]

I sat next to a Cleveland an at the game who had been a fan before LeBron, born and raised in Cleveland. She cheered and whistled for every made shot, and by the end of the game was being ruthlessly heckled by the drunk frat jack holes three rows back. That kinda sucked. I had a lot of respect for her fandom.

That game vs. Bulls was particularly memorable. I'd had surgery that morning. My sister in law brought me home in the afternoon and put me to bed. I has previously set my alarm and set out the radio tuned to the station so I could listen to that game. Still groggy from anesthesia. As soon as the game was over I fell asleep. Happily. Man, what we fans do for our Blazers!

62 win Chicago. 72 win Chicago was 2 years prior (Jordans first FULL year back). That year Portland lost by a total of 7 points. @ Chicago 110-106 and @ Portland 107-104.

Dang, the Bulls won 31 of 32 games in one stretch of that year.

Yeah, I'd like to meet the man who put that together. Pure gold.
