Skal is very young, very athletic, and has flashed some good skills. What I think and hope sets him apart is that he appears to have a good motor, a good attitude, and good character.

I've said before, Simons and Skal are the future. I hope I'm right. Also hope Zach and Nassir are part of that future.
Dame, CJ, _____, Skal, Nurk
Ant, (GT Jr?), Nas, Zach

If our young guys develop well, and we can get a quality SF to fill that one gaping hole in the lineup, 20-21 could be special.

In game 82, how many people think that if you put Collins in the same spot as Skal, that he would have produced as much? I like Collins, but I don't see him going 29 and 15 in that game.

I would prefer to have a minimum of 3 good outside shooters on the floor at once.

If you start Baze then I would go with Collins and Nurk
If someone like Harkless or Little started than I would lean towards the better outside shooting 4. (Skal)

It's hard to tell and this might seem like an excuse for Zach (and maybe it is) but I kind of see him as a guy who can impact the game without necessarily putting up crazy stats (except maybe blocks sometimes).

Exactly.
You have to have those type of guys too. Which is one reason why I could care less if he played in summer league this year, fans would just bitch about his lack of numbers against "inferior players.

And it is also why in my post above I said start him if we have three other shooters on the floor with him, but not if we don't. Regardless if he starts or comes off the bench he will get his minutes this year.

Another one. His agent is also based on Chicago and Enes spends a lot of time there.

Some realistic targets for us which could really well (I'd love to get Dedmon, but he'll be out of our range):

Richaun Holmes (offense, some shooting, decent defense at PF)
Dragan Bender (defense, C)
Corey Brewer (defensive wing, underrated, always goes 100%)
Sam Dekker (front court scoring)
Henry Ellenson (bench depth, some size)
Ed Davis, obviously
Danuel House jr (if Rockets want to shed salary and renounce)
Luke Kornet (some shotblocking, but great shooter and decent rebounder)
Eric Moreland (if we cant get Ed Davis, similar skillset)

Probably too expensive:
Taj Gibson
RHJ (especially considering his skillset)
Maxi Kleber
Daniel Theiss

Thoughts?

i like holmes probably the best of your realistic set. high energy, hustle guy. can be effective in changing tempo with his defense and rim running before he gets too exposed. too bad about 420 arrest in miami though. not sure how that would be viewed by front office. his parents were always advocates on twitter of their son deserving playing time during the course of suns' games last year.

Nice, if Kanter signs elsewhere Taj would be a really nice fit. He's old but I think he would accept a bench role when Nurk is healthy without it becoming an issue.

Are you meaning he plays pf with zach c now and then shifts to the bench when zach slides to pf? I dont think either zach or taj are big enough to play big minutes at c right now.

I'd like for Skal to get a bigger consideration in the rotation. He's super skilled and has great length. For as much as we're talking about Simons, Skal had just as an impressive game against Sac.
Solid post. I’d like to see the same.

If this ends with Olshey getting a legit four for the minimum...

After the Tolliver signing I still think we need to another body at center. I’m just thinking of the very real scenario where Whiteside gets in foul trouble against a team with a traditional center. If Collins is starting at the four, then what? And besides, you really want Collins banging against dudes like Jokic? Kanter and Meyers weren’t good defensively but they were bodies to throw.

Chandler
Monroe
Noah
Gortat
Boban

If you wanna leave a roster spot open for an eventual buyout guy then just rescind Layman.
