Let's have at least ONE thread that tries to put a positive spin on everything.

Statistically, Felton and Miller were actually very similar last year. Felton had more points/assists per 36 than Miller did. Clearly, Felton's a MUCH better 3 point shooter. And, of course, he's 8 years younger.

Who else did we lose--Rudy & Koponen? No big loss on either of them. I'm glad Rudy's gone. And honestly, we got more for him than we did for Sergio.

And, we drafted a point guard who can actually be trusted to play as a backup. I expect Smith to contribute very early in the season.

And ESPN's reporting that we keep Hamilton's rights. If that's true, then we got something we sorely need--a pure scorer.

LMA not traded for Kwame Brown!

yet.

IF we get to keep Hamilton, then I think the day was salvaged. I'm not happy, but I like adding a young scorer.

I also DO like having a PG that can spread the defense and is not in his 30's.

I'm postive that I'm not wild about Bert Kolde running the draft.

I am positive that most on this board think our turds could be polished into gold. What a bunch of freakin whiners.

I like Felton in Portland. I think he's a solid PG.

Apparently the "chemistry" between our Owner and our GM has much improved. Is that positive enough?

I think seats at home games will be easier to get next year.

How about this: we're two NCAA championships richer?

To be fair, I like Felton and I like Smith.

(I just like Miller + Rudy + Koponen + Faried more.)

Not crazy about Felton but the team had to get younger at PG. Felton is just entering his prime so that's good.

Nolan Smith could be a pretty decent pick. He's ready to play and he was impressive at Duke last year.

I'd give the Blazers a B-

Miller's Assist% the past 4 years - 32

Felton's Assist% in his 6 years - 32

The Blazers got younger and more athletic at PG. Felton is going to be a lightning rod for criticism, though, because the Miller Camp is entrenched in Mediocre Town

At least, with Cho gone, we weren't just making change for change's sake...

...right?

How many playoff series has Felton won?

Heck... how many playoff GAMES has Felton won?

Mediocre has been all but unexplored territory for Felton's teams.

You could argue Miller had more talent around him and his assists MAY have been easier to come by... Felton grabs that stat with what, 4 of those years in Charlotte? I like the speed, defense and shooting that Felton brings.

It was a nice upgrade, I think. BTW, how many times has Miller made it out of the first round?

Felton is much quicker on the break than Andre so that's good

He can really push the tempo

Don't know much about Felton but we now have a starting PG who shoul be in his prime at almost the same time LA starts to hit his prime. Basically we are back to the problem of needing a good pack up for the next few years.

Starting five look solid . . . but I'm not used to the Blazers being thin. I'm hope we aren't adding a lot more projects on the bench as we already have Babbit, Williams and Johnson. Blazers now need to add a proven big man via trade or maybe MLE.

Jordan Hamilton is a Trail Blazer.

If true, then can we finally say that we drafted Jordan when we had the chance?

I think Nelson will be a pretty good backup PG

We can get Norris Cole and Isaiah Thomas with our second rounders and have a whole team of short shooting guards?

I thought this was supposed to be a 'positive' thread.

My bad, Ed...
