I think realistically, these teams all have a realistic shot at landing the first pick, and also want Noel.

Orlando: Would they be willing to trade Vucevic for #10 and draft Noel and someone at #10? He is probably more of a PF, though. Would #10 be enough? Probably not.

Cleveland: Probably woul danyway, but I don't want an injured center

Phoenix: Might anyway, but this would increase chances of Gortat.

NO: if they landed Noel, they would certainly look to deal Lopez.

Charlotte: They have no center of interest for us

But, Noel won't likely be available for a good part of the season

Wow, the thought of Noel and Davis together never occurred to me. That would be crazy.

This is a really interesting topic. I should rep you for starting this thread.

True, but would a team that low anyway be willing to let a center play the year out rather than get a lottery pick for it

I think if we had wanted Lopez, we'd have made a run at him last year when he was a FA. And it didn't sound like we made much, if any, attempt at him.

If I were them I would hold on to their centers. For one thing Noel only weighs about 225 and he may be able to play PF as well. Plus they need to make sure he heals properly.

Good point, but it depends on how good the team with the #1 pick wants to be this year. One of the really crappy teams like Phoenix or Charlotte could draft Noel, sit him for a year, and still be in the running for the #1 next year, potentially starting two #1 draft pick the year after next both as rookies.

I keep thinking the Wizards might be a decent trading partner. Not that a guy like Okafor, Seraphin or even Nene would be some kind of god-send, but they do have a lot of money tied up in those guys.

Ya, those make sense. If it were Okafor or Nene it would tell us that they feel Leonard can be the guy at some point....or they panicked and settled on a player.

Nene or Okafor could be the way to go. Neither of them knock my socks off but Im struggling to think of anyone realisticly available to us who is better. I also think either of them would compliment Lamarcus rather well.

I think nene is a good player. He's not that much of a shot blocker, but he clogs the paint and defends one on one very well. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I wouldn't be upset if we got him for the right price.
