First, Merry Christmas to all you animals.
Second, I think it might be too soon to say AV really likes these lines. Obviously they have played well. But that third line has only been together for two games and I think AV would switch it up if he could. The fourth line is playing well but compared to other fourth lines we see they still have zero scoring touch.
I don't think I agree with your belief that Callahan will be traded. Not saying trading him is a bad idea, I just dont think that happens.
We need a guy who can put the puck in the net. Not many teams left in the league without a double-digit goal scorer. I thought Glencross would have been a perfect target for us to fill out the top 6. I know he just got injured pretty badly though, so that's probably not a great idea right now.
I think Sather needs to decide soon what to do with Brassard. If he wants to keep him, Miller becomes expendable. If the team wants Miller as the 3rd C next year, then Brassard is expendable. Package MDZ with either Brassard or Miller and get a top 6 winger from a team out of it. Then when Callahan comes back, slide him on the third line in Pouliot's spot, bump Pouliot down to the 4th and scratch either Boyle or Moore. A 4th line of Pouliot-Moore/Boyle-Dorsett would be pretty damn good, and Pouliot would bring some scoring touch with size to the 4th line. I worry about him playing with less offensive-minded players, but Miller and Hagelin are no offensive juggernauts.
Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Acquired Wing (Glencross? Kane?) - Richards - MZA
Hagelin - Miller or Brassard - Callahan
Pouliot - Boyle/Moore - Dorsett
That isn't too bad
