List some players or player who you think has the potential to breakout next year, especially if given a bigger role.

A guy that has impressed from watching him is Brandon Bass of the Dallas Mavericks. The guy is built, tough and athletic and he also has some skill. He can shoot the midrange shot as well as post up or put the ball on the floor a little. He can grab an offensive rebound in traffic and take it right back up for a strong dunk. He was also impressive in the playoffs.

I wonder if given a starters role and more minutes he could break out like David West. He's playing behind Dirk Nowitzki so he's not going to be starting anytime soon. If the Nets can't get an established star like Brand or find a way to draft a skilled bigman like Love, then I think a guy like Bass should be considered as a third option for the starting PF spot given his skill and production.
Just the question of what it takes to get him.

Who else is out there.

Damn! Just realized that if only Thorn could have squeezed him into the Kidd trade. Or maybe asked for Bass instead of Diop. But then again, maybe it wouldn't have worked contract wise if they didn't include Diop.

DH & Swat!

If I answer this, it will only make it harder to own everyone in the GM draft for the third consecutive year.

But I will tell you that if Rudy Fernandez gets any real run, he will be a legit ROTY contender.

You didn't own shit last year. We never even had a vote because cpaw abandoned it.

Also, you lost in year 1 for not defending yourself.

I think Bass is very overrated and since he cant play SF, where does he fit in Dallas other than as Nowitzki's backup? His handle is poor. His range is limited.

I think ghoti is right about Fernandez...if he comes over. But the default ROY is still Oden, aka Sam Bowie the Sequel.

Pistons will have to find room for Stuckey and the Clippers will have to find room for Thornton. I also expect Marvin Williams to break out, particularly if someone steals Josh Smith away from Atlanta. Julian Wright, Nick Young, Yi Jianlian should all get a lot more time on court as well.

And yeah, without being too much of a homer, I expect Harris to move into the front line of point guards. He did what he did with the Nets while recovering from two sprained ankles.

Andris Biedrins, Kirk Hinrich, Chris Duhon, Sean Williams, Rod Benson, Johan Petro, Ramon Sessions...Demetris Nichols, Hakim Warrick

Vince Carter, RJ, Bargnani, Moon, Calderon. Wait, did I say Vince Carter, my bad.

I had a fairly significant personal issue come up.

You used to like Vince on JBB.

Overrated? He's been a solid backup player exceeding expectations.

He's also got a good mid-range shot going.

You should know GM Drafts take precedence.

i think travis outlaw of portland will have an even bigger year this year... i expect more from j.r. smith as well (depends if he stays and goes) and more MONTE ELLIS... i love this guy

I like this question...

I'd say Monta Ellis already had a breakout year.

But, definately JULIAN WRIGHT.

Brandon Bass is underated..... but he is not going to have a breakout year with DIRK.

I guess RODNEY STUCKEY and MARVIN WILLIAMS are goint to have quite and impressive year as well.

AL HOFORD should be quite a monster... around 14 points 12 rebounds.

how bout Conley?

Surprised nobody has said this one yet.. Greg Oden anyone?

Nick Young (if he can get enough time with a healthy Arenas, if the Wiz re-sign him)

Break out year from what? He hasn't played it.

Another player that can bust out is Randy Foye.

My sleeper pick that didn't get much burn this season is Morris Almond.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (#1_Yinka_Dare_Fan @ Jun 2 2008, 04:12 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Rodney Rogers.</div>

Ha. I laughed.

I echo the Blatche pick.

Mickael Gelabale
He had some amazing games this year without damien wilkins in the lineup
but then got injured
definitely him

Mo Ager. Like Harris, he will blossom under Frank after being browbeat by Avery Johnson.
