Who knows, no matter what the Clippers will take some time to mesh as a team. While we have a lot of moving pieces too, our core remains intact. That means something.
Hey, we have Lillard and McCollum, they have Beverley and Lou Williams.
Got to admire Kawhi for fucking with EVERYbody. Also can't argue with two Southern Californians getting to go home.
Lakers-Clippers is going to be EPIC.

Kevin Love is probably the best idea now but he’s not that good anymore.

We have a lot of promising young players who may make a step up in the upcoming seasons. Little, Simons and Collins give us good future. We need to remember we are strangled with Dame and CJ deals, we likely can’t add third contract of this magnitude as this will prevent us from building depth.

I would fucking love to get Love but at the same time i feel like getting Blake Griffin would really scare the other teams in the Western Conference.

Lillard
McCollum
Hood
Griffin
Nurkic

that's a hell of an offensive machine.

You can't trap Dame&CJ because Griffin is a superb playmaker.

Both LA teams won't have any future assets if their current teams bust. These 21/22 draft picks I'd protect like crazy just because they're gonna become even more of a commodity in a year or so. I know the rush will be to keep up with the arms race, but I'd try to stay patient. Love is not the answer, neither is an overpaid Griffin-- PG just became available out of nowhere. You never know when these superstars will show up. Keep our assets for the right guy. I have my eye on KAT or Devin Booker.

True but much of that is partially due to LeBron and Kawhi changing teams and the Warriors suffering mass injuries.

Kawhi
Warriors

San Antonio. Dallas. Miami. Cleveland. Oakland. Toronto. Not exactly hotbeds of previous basketball excellence. Aside from MIA, not hotbeds of free agency.

Why not us?

2014 was last time Warriors lost a Western Conference playoff series
17 was a super team, give you that.
16 and 18 they were down 3-2. Good for them for winning (no * from me), but let’s not say no one else had a shot.
Even this year, they lost 4 games in the first two rounds and were down double digits in the 2nd half 3x in our 4-game sweep. Again, they pulled it out (heart of a champion and such) but they weren’t juggernauts.

They also suffered through multiple injuries in the finals with both Durant and Thompson gone and Cousins and Iggy hobbling around. They have been a dynasty.

The last time Lillard played with an All Star was 4 years ago, and Aldridge is not in the same category like the real Superstars, i feel bad for Dame

just need someone that's an allstar talent to demand a trade to portland is all. simple. now, who's it going to be???????? seems to be how these teams are constructed, no??? SMH,SMH

Man all these teams are gonna force our hands into getting Blake or Love

I hope not, I'd rather trade CJ and rebuild around Dame/youth (which I don't want to do)

Blake is damaged goods and Love is an overpaid 1980's PF.

7 different champs since 2010... :dunno:
Ok and only like 2-3 teams in each of those years had a chance to win. This year GS and Toronto, but Toronto only won because GS ran out of warm bodies to play.
Then prior to that Cleveland and GS had met in like 4 straight finals, prior to that Miami was going every year.

This will be the first time in recent memory like 10 teams and their fans can rationally look at it and say, we have a real shot, WITHOUT needing other teams to have a ton of injuries. I think its going to be awesome.

I agree Portland should make a move but the only thing they can do, afaik is Blake or Love. What packages can Portland offer? Toronto is probably buying and selling as well. Ibaka is the clear choice; siakim is off limits I think.

what about a deal with san antone for LMA? Not my fave but he is skilled.

I need rumors dammit.

Would you trade CJ for Westbrook? Westbrook would play the SG and Dame be the PG. Westbrook gives us a big guard, who can actually post up, rebound, play D, ... except we just don't want him to run the point for an extended period of time.

How do we match up with the Clippers? I'm afraid, we don't matchup well #1 (Beverly vs Dame), #2 (CJ vs Leonard) and #3 (Moe vs Hood) and #4 (PG vs Colins) positions.

Well, we just found our rookie TPFKATHCP.

Dame has always eaten Beverly's lunch, and if Hood isn't better than Hark then Neil fucked up this offseason.
The other 2 positions though, I can't say much... But seems to me like we're better in 3 out of 5 starting spots.

Of course we don't have a guy like Lou of the bench... Oh wait nvm we have future mvp Anfernee Simons !

Yeah it is the closing minutes that will be the biggest issue for the Blazers and most other teams. Doc's teams play decent D for 3 quarters, but he has them turn it up a notch in the 4th. Tough to play 40 minutes of high energy D and still have enough left over on the offensive end.

Did he really show he could post up and play D against the Blazers. I saw just as much D from CJ in that series.

I don’t see the Blazers making a move until the deadline, which has been the plan all along.

We're not a team built around superstars. We have one superstar, a borderline All-Star and a VERY good supporting. Most importantly, we have an identity. Our pieces fit together. It's not just a Whitsitt-Grab-As-Much-Talent-As-You-Can. The moves this offseason weren't about talent (although I would argue we became more talented), but about FIT.

We're following the San Antonio model, which should give us a shot at a title. Only in Golden State was it going to be easy when they were healthy and had two of the best three players in the NBA. All I care about is that we're good enough to compete for a title. The rest is luck, circumstance and hard work.
