I think HCP is hitting on an important note... how would fans react when they team they thought was going to make the playoffs... let my Greg Oden... goes 0-5? If that happens... I think some people will call for Nate's head.

It *won't* be the end of the world... just the end of a tough schedule stretch. This team *is* going to be good, and if we get out of November with a .500 record... we are going to rock they rest of the year. If not... things will still get a lot better. Unless of course we panic and fire the coach... and trade xyz for Carter who messes up our chemistry and spiral down into oblivian.

Whoops... got sidetracked... back to HCP... people will judge the team as the difference between their expectations and what happens. If they expect them to win 13 of 18 and they win 6? That will be a huge disappointment I would think. I think that is what he is saying... and I think I would agree that in general some expectations are a bit high right now.

Now the team will perform how they perform... doesn't matter what we think. No one thought they'd win 13 straight last year but they did... and we needed every win of it to just get to .500.
 
No, the team won't fail or succeed based on people's lofty expectations, but I'm with HCP I think there are some people around here who are setting themselves up for some heartburn and hand wringing ... and people are fully entitled to freak out and howl at the moon when/if things go off the rails, but some of us aren't looking forward to opening up our browser and being bombarded by all that angst.

It doesn't really matter to me, if things get too nasty around here, I'll just skip the hassle and stick to blazersedge to get my fan fix.

I agree. I honestly don't think that is going to happen. I think these guys will leave for the big ass road trip on a good note!

I think they will win 8 games, not 6. Sac is horrible and Minni is pretty damn bad. The only one I think could be off is Golden State, since they play out of their minds at home.
