Predict the First Round

The East is pretty close this season imo. Good mix of vet teams and young teams. I think the Sixers will struggle, these guys have never sniffed playoff contention.

I think Sixers are making it to the conference finals and maybe even the Finals. They are buzzing right now, won 16 in a row and the city is absolutely crazy about that team. Winning there is going to be spectacularly difficult, the way they annihilated Bucks the other night was astonishing.

They have Redick, Johnson and a few more experienced players. Besides that I don't think Simmons or Embiid are particularly fussed with the pressure, they seem to feed on it.

Raptors/Wizards in 5
Celtics/Bucks in 6
Sixers/Heat in 5
Cavs/Pacers in 6

Rockets/Wolves in 6
Warriors/Spurs in 6
Blazers/Pelicans in 7
Thunder/Jazz in 7

Raptors in 5
Bucks in 6
Sixers in 5
Cavs in 5

Rockets in 5
Warriors in 7
Blazers in 6
Jazz in 6

Wizards in 6.

I just don't understand the faith in the Raptors. We are talking about Playoffs' Raptor's right? The same team who has been the two seed and had home court advantage for several season's and STILL could not get past their opponent in the first round. When the east was much more easier back then and a 7th and 8th seeded team were much worse teams then what a 7th and 8th seed team is this years Playoffs.

So you are telling me, that with MORE pressure of being the #1 seed they are going to to exercise their 1st round demons and finally get to the second round?

I guess I need to see it to believe it.

I don't think AD plays every game in this series.

Jazz in 6

Wizards in 6.

Raptors have won their first round series the past 2 years, and haven't lost a first-round series as a 2 seed. The last couple years, they've only lost to Lebron. They've won more playoff series' in the past two years than the Blazers have in the past 17.

Spurs over Warriors seems to be the trendy upset pick

I don't count Jazz over OKC an upset pick

Utah is like the anti-OKC. They're so much more disciplined and methodical and will control the pace. I think Utah in 5.

I can't imagine how insufferable Eric's posts will be if the Warriors actually lose in the first round. We'll all have to leave...

Looks like I’m the only one picking OKC over Utah? I think they will get a TON of calls from the refs, and that is HUGE in a playoff series.

Tor in 6
Bucks in 7
Heat in 7
Pacers in 6

If there was ever another year in the West where 8 beats 1....I think its this year

We're also talking about the Wizards who got beat by the Magic on Wednesday.

The Jazz defense is very good, but who steps up if Mitchell gets shut down?
Good point. Also, the guys on OKC are battle tested and have a ton of playoff experience. They never came together like I thought this season, but I believe they will win this series still.

Raptors/Wizards (Raptors in 5)
Celtics/Bucks (Celtics in 7)
Sixers/Heat (Sixers in 5)
Cavs/Pacers (Cavs in 6)

Rockets/Wolves (Rockets in 4)
Warriors/Spurs (Warriors in 5)
Blazers/Pelicans (Blazers in 5) If we take both at home to go up 2-0, I think we may sweep. Lillard will be ready.
Thunder/Jazz (Thunder in 7)

I think the shortened rotations really will benefit OKC. However I can’t fully trust them as a squad. Biggest toss up series of the first round.

I don't see any way OKC beats Utah. Utah's defense will dominate that series.
Question for you sir, what if Mitchell doesn’t have a huge game every night? I just see Melo and PG 13 getting every call against their wings.

Melo is a shell of the All Star he once was. PG 13 is good, but he's not enough. I think Utah will smoke them.

Hold on, PG 13 is “good”? Melo’s game does NOT work with Westbrook obviously, but if they need some buckets down the stretch, I think he will come thru.

The post said PG13 is good and I said "I agree." I think Jazz will win convincingly. They've been amazing on the road despite losing to us at Moda Center on final night.

Pure gamble.

Wiz 7
Bucks 7
Sixers 6
Cavs 6

Rockets 6
Spurs 7
Blazers 5
Jazz 7

Let the games begin.

I was laughing while reading you said he was GOOD. Utah hasp;aged better as a team this season for sure, but the playoffs are a different beast. Called differently and played differently. OKC has guys that have been thru that. I think that’s a huge factor in why I picked them.
