I've been a fan since early 80's....the 80's I didn't know any better. the 89-92 teams spoiled me, but also made me jaded.

The Gary Trent, Gary Grant, Dontonio Wingfield, Vincent Askew, Alton Lister, James Edwards, Tracey Murray, Elmore Spencer, Sean Higgins, John Crotty and PJ Carlesimo teams though. That was some ugly basketball after the 89-92 teams went to the finals and were fun to watch.

If it wasn't for Rod Strickland and Sabonis, I'm not sure I would've remained a fan. By the time the team took a shit in the 2000's, I pretty much only was a fan because of habit.

Btw, interesting fact about Randolph Childress.

Was traded to Portland (from Houston) in the form of a future 1st round draft pick, in the Clyde Drexler trade (Otis "My man" Thorpe and crap for Drexler).

Then was traded to Detroit (by Portland, as a future 1st round pick) with a 2nd first round pick for Detroits pick (Respert).

Then he was traded to Portland for Otis "my man" Thorpe.

Then he was traded back to Detroit (with Aaron McKie and Reggie Jordan) for Stacey Augmon.

So he was traded WITH Otis Thorpe, and then traded FOR Otis Thorpe.

That's funny shit.
