Apparently I'm a hater for saying this all-summer.

Nah man. People are just hoping he becomes a reliable player and doesn't go the way of Vonleh.

Not in my book. I was there last year though. People were calling him the next Zach Randolph and i was a real hater when i questioned it.
He has some major flaws that not many people can get around.

Biggie doesnt look good on either end of the court, hopefully Neil didn’t have him in mind as Ed’s replacement lol! Too bad Meyers ain’t much better. Thankfully we have..oh wait nevermind were fucked. Neil better be looking at the waiver wire for bigs, even if it’s two way guys.

Baldwin looks like he’s forcing things offensively but at least he puts in a shift on defense. He’s not going to be in the rotation though.

Stauskas looked good again. I don’t like him in that Connaughton role where he’s playing with dame and CJ and just standing in the corner. That’s what Sacramento tried to box him in as. He needs the ball in his hands. I like him with Curry on the second unit.

Simons plays stronger than he looks.

Layman was poop.

I felt bad for Zach in this one. He thrives when he can guard some pnr and play off good offensive players.

Playing with Wade, Layman, Biggie and Meyers gives him little chance to succeed on either end.

The last unit didn't help there self from anyone evaluation didn't look good.
Heres the thing, that line up wont ever play together when it matters. They’re just getting run, I would put 0 stock in trying evaluate how any of them did whether it looks bad or good. Its similar to summer League most of those guys are being sent out to work on specific things, with players they dont have any chemistry with yet.

Like the fact that he lumbers?

It might be time to panic about Collins, though. Unless he was eating popcorn right up till the start of the game and still had butter all over his hands.
Why....? He's 20. He's still growing into his body. He played great defense all game long, and had a couple awful calls.agaimst him. He's better on offense when hes plowing in a offense that has rythym and flow... He didn't force and shot 2-3
..

I was certain before but now even more so... Curry needs to play every single backup guard minute, and to do that CJ will have to play with the 2nd unit like he has in years past.

Maybe. With the way Stauskas is playing maybe not.

Exactly.

Playing with Wade, Layman, Biggie in Meyers hurts him so much.

You ain't kidding. Meyers pairing off with him was pailnful.

Did you watch Stauskas on defense? He's the Meyers of guards, IMO. Since he's new though, and his mistakes aren't quite as obvious, people like him.

Defensively he was very, very bad.

Our main guys out play there's main guys througout the game. Zach problem he has weak hands and that his problem is right now but he shot 2-3 tonight and that was my concern.

Very enjoyable game when it was starters vs. starters, but those guyz off the bench who gave that PUTRID performance need to head to the gym NOW, and figure it out. Baldwin looks like he's regressed. Swanigan was clueless. Trent Jr. looked disinterested. Collins was like, "coach, what did I do to deserve playing with these knuckleheads". I give credit to Simons for showing some talent, but defense was not his forte as Allen lit him up. I know, it's preseason, and Turner didn't play, Harkless is hurt, but c'mon bench. Except for Stauskas, pretty much dooky. On the happy side, Dame and CJ were primo, and Nurk's hardwork is showing. Gobert is no stiff, and Nurk was a beast. Looked smooth in the paint, and that 3 Ball will open the paint up for drives.

I really hope Nurkic plays 33mpg. It might mean no Biggie or Meyers:

Lillard (36) / Curry (12)
McCollum (36) / Curry (12)
Harkless (20) / Turner (24) / Curry (4)
Aminu (32) / Harkless (10) / Collins (6)
Nurkic (33) / Collins (15)

I think that's the ideal lineup.

Some good things i did see with Meyers was he was successful at drawing out his man on offense and it did open up the court. With Stauskus took full advantage of the open key a couple times. Meyers also was doing well boxing out on the defensive end. He did not play bad.

Positives for me:
Stauskas!
Layman!
Nurk for three!
Curry with Lillard and CJ - unguardable trio.

Negatives:
Sorry Biggie, but we thought you couldn't run because you were fat, but it turns out you just can't run
Our young guys can give up leads faster than our main guys can build them.
Basically Nurk is our only reliable big right now (not counting Aminu and I guess Harkless). But I guess picking up useful centers on the cheap has been the one thing Olshey is consistently good at...

You became certain after a game without the backup point guard?

my hype factor after this game is about a -6

i think what we seem to be hugely missing is the energy that Harkless brings and the tenacity that Ed had.

so many zzzzzz sigh zzzzzzz sigh parts of that game.

I cant wait for the regular season, these are not well played games guys are obviously still figuring things out, they dont have a feel for each other. I think we should really hold off on making much of a judgement on who’s good or bad from these games.

Turner is the guy who brings the ball up, but he guards SFs. He's basically a point forward. It's literally as if Curry plays all backup guard mimutes and Turner plays SF with him and brings the ball up.
