All in all this was another pre season game and they continued to get some good looks at what was working and what is not.

I have faith that Stotts is doing his job and taking notes. He will come down to who is going to be on the roster and that will be that. This is what pre season is for.

This shouldn't spoil the fact that the team looked great about 1-8, and that's without Harkless and Turner (who was our biggest positive the last game).
Looking at the +/- scores, I guess I should say we looked great 1-5.
Collins was -22 in 20 minutes
Baldwin was -28 in 14!

I kind of agree with Bones on that. Curry would do well and CJ can play the two.
Turner would essentially be the backup SF but bring the ball up. They'd play together. Both would be in every minute that one of Dame or CJ was sitting, with the onenin the game being that 3rd perimeter player.

Turner is the guy who brings the ball up, but he guards SFs. He's basically a point forward. It's literally as if Curry plays all backup guard mimutes and Turner plays SF with him and brings the ball up.

So your take away from this game was that Stauskas shouldn’t play?

I really hope Nurkic plays 33mpg. It might mean no Biggie or Meyers:

Lillard (36) / Curry (12)
McCollum (36) / Curry (12)
Harkless (20) / Turner (24) / Curry (4)
Aminu (32) / Harkless (10) / Collins (6)
Nurkic (33) / Collins (15)

I think that's the ideal lineup.

Hey bro, are you going to post highlights of this game on YouTube? I need to see them; I missed most of this game.

And who gets benched?
Posted this earlier:

Lillard (36) / Curry (12)
McCollum (36) / Curry (12)
Harkless (20) / Turner (24) / Curry (4)
Aminu (32) / Harkless (10) / Collins (6)
Nurkic (33) / Collins (15)

Turner brings the ball up.

And who gets benched?
My feeling might be different from Bones. But the way i see it is it depends on the opponent and who they have on the court. If you are playing a bigger team you sit Turner but Turner gives you some beef if needed. Then there are times they are playing small?

I think if you play against smaller teams you see more 3 guard lineup, possibly with Harkless playing more PF.

He's on a two way contract. Not like we should have ever expected a ton from him.
No he's not. He's on a guaranteed contract.. and it's in reference to fans saying he needs to play. Poor game, yes, but some of those mistakes were unacceptable for a rotation guy.

That is what i'm kind of thinking also. Depends on who they are playing.

Then there is another thing. It's a long season. Injuries happen and there are times guys simply work hard in practice and deserve a look. I actually think the team is a bit deeper than i originally thought. Stotts will do his 20 game thing and then look for changes around Thanksgiving.

It was the last few minutes of a preseason with a group of players that’ll literally never touch the floor together in a real game except for like 40 point blow outs.

Yup. I paid a lot of attention to his defense.

Curry has three assists in three games and is pretty much just an off brand CJ but sure let’s pair those two together, great idea boss.

You’re just praying you don’t look like a fool because of the preconceived notions you had about Stauskas. That’s all it is. Youd rather him fail than say I was wrong. The worst kind of fan.

My problem with that thinking is that Utah had the same kind of group out there. They got smoked. Plain and simple.

Sure they did, but itd be just as silly for the Jazz to sit back and make positive judgements on their bench guys based off of a few minutes of a preseason game.

I don't understand this?
Stauskas looked like he played pretty well? He always goes hard and does make things happen.

That's right. Forgot. But I still give him a wide birth. Like so many of Olshey's "pickups."

Agree with you there. Could have gone the other way just as well probably.

Did you watch Stauskas on defense? He's the Meyers of guards, IMO. Since he's new though, and his mistakes aren't quite as obvious, people like him.

Defensively he was very, very bad.
He was better in the 2nd half. And a bad defender on the wing is easier to cover up for than a center whose terrible in space and pnr.

But we are talking about a 10th man who at most will play 500-800 minutes, assuming decent health.

Oh god, shut up. I've been wrong before and I'm not afraid to be wrong again. If you think someone being wrong makes them a fool then you, yourself, are the fool. I even admitted he was doing a good job offensively earlier today. But I pay attention to defense, and his defense was very bad, and I think Curry is a better all around player. Yeah, I'm the "worst fan".... just shut up.

I guess i was not paying close enough attention to Stauskas on defense? I just did not see a bunch of terrible mistakes? He got switched on a couple times and he had to fight through a pick better but he was pretty active and got a steal and block. He did commit some fouls though.
