Zach Collins is what worries me the most, though. Yikes.

It's preseason--I'd wait a few weeks into the regular season before I start freaking out about Collins. Just my advice though.

Zach turns 21 in November. The Blazers will be on a five game road trip and he will be in New York. They have that day off (Nov 19th). After that he will be a totally different player..... I don't know???? It sounded good in my head.

Unless by weeks you mean years, I don't understand what you're saying at all. You expect him to look drastically different from what we've seen in a few weeks from now? How come? Hey, I want good things from Zach, but I'd just like them before Dame retires.

Looking at the +/- scores, I guess I should say we looked great 1-5.
Collins was -22 in 20 minutes
Baldwin was -28 in 14!

I never look at that new-fangled stat. Subtract 1 3/4 minutes (from 4:30 to 2:45 left in the game) and you get a different picture. We were outscored by about 17 points then. (estimates; I didn't look them up.)

Curry will play better, and probably Staukas. ET (gasp) will contribute. Zach can only go up. I refuse to be negative about the Hammer. But yeah, the ceiling looks low on this group.

I watch the replay last night watch Zach what he was doing and there not much he didn't do wrong. Defensely when play the center position there wasn't many layups in there. Utah penetrated a lot to the basket but when they got to Zach they usually pass the ball out. Offense he was 2-3 from the floor properly could took another shot but pass up the shot. The last 2 games he been 6-7 from the floor. Now the questionable thing is his hands where he had 2 turnovers. He can rebound better but most of the time he was guarding the perimeter so it hard to gets rebounds from there and when he played center that when Utah was hitting all those 3 points shots. You got remember he is the 4 or 5 option on offense.

What also seen last night was how the Blazers ran there offense for 3 QT. Lot cuts that gave them a lot scoring opportunity. Dame and CJ got points through the offensive. Nurk really have slow down on the offensive but still have questionable hands like Zach. Dame and CJ really made Rubio and Mitchell look bad out there on the floor. While Nurk hitting those 3 that really opens the floor up last night that made Gobert not the rim protector last night. Layman looks a lot better this year but for him to see the floor this year he will probably have to play some stretched 4 due to Harkless and Turner will get all the 3 minutes.

Zach obviously still doesn't have a go-to move on offense. He looks scared to make mistakes, even in garbage time when Simons has the green light to go off.

I really wish they ran some plays for him where they could get him open for a 18-foot jumper around the elbow. Right now he doesn't have the handle or aggressiveness to get his own shot. The coaches need to recognize that, especially in the last preseason games, and get him involved.

If this is him playing well, we are fucked. Zach had 5 turnovers last night and 5 fouls, zero blocks, zero steals and whopping 4 rebounds.

Yes, for him and Dame and CJ. Someone is going to have to go out and guard him. Loved his shot selection and no more flippy-dos avoiding contact.
