A lot of the main guys just looked tired like it was the first back to back of the preseason. But I thought Pat looked good playing with rotation players, Layman actually played well, and Nurk is hilarious (he'd piss me the fuck off if he weren't a Blazer :bgrin:).

Collins looked more determined tonight. Maybe because coach only played him 12 minutes. Pissed him off.

Yeah, I think I'm getting on the Collins Train too. This is preseason against scrubs, but still....he's got very nice moves.

I'm eager to see how he does in regular season against starting-caliber players.

I am guessing he will struggle, but only because he is a young rookie with one year of college ball. Long term....I am excited. Between Dame, CJ, Nurk, and Collins we would have 4 smart talented starters....who can all pass and have a good feel for the game.

Stotts says post game that our starting 5 tonight is NOT (necessarily) the starters for reg season. Neither was the rotation. Despite Quick being so sure that’s what we’re seeing (Quick even asked the question lol)

This is good. I really want biggie or even Collins to start at the 4. Not Aminu. Am I nuts?

Nurk is hilarious (he'd piss me the fuck off if he weren't a Blazer :bgrin:).

I would hate him if he was not a Blazer. He is a little too smug and cocky. And at times he appears too lackadaisical. I want to see more intensity and less theatrics.
I still love the guy though, and I love that he gets under opponents skin, but he needs to stop playing for the cameras.

If Morrow isn't in the rotation there's no point in him making the team over Briscoe, especially when we already have a one dimensional player as insurance who doesn't actually count against the roster.
Just because we don't see as much of Marrow does not mean that he won't make the team.

Could Morrow help add another dimension in the post season? Yes, Briscoe? Doubtful.

Morrow is strictly a spot up shooter. Doesn't move off the ball. Not hard to defend. Its not much different than what Connaughton brings.

Except for the fact that Pat never hits shots when you actually need him too.

I'm not even a Connaughton fan but how can you even come to this conclusion? The sample size of rotation minutes is ridiculously small.

Perhaps, he just never seems to hit shots in anything but garbage time.

Dame seemed tired, but what I liked about this game is that Dame/CJ/starting lineup didn't play particularly well, but we were still up by 17 at one point.
Besides Harkless 3-6, our starters were
Aminu 1-5
Nurk 5-13
Lillard 3-8
CJ 5-13,

The real test of the team IMHO is that when Dame and CJ don't play well, can we win? Tonight we did.

LOLZ...

I would have agreed with you before the last two games. He actually hit a three in the first half of each game that were tough. Maybe Terry knows something we don't.

I wonder what Terry's strategy is for guarding forwards behind the arc. Because much like last year Harkless seemed to be helping out down low and there bye was late to get out to cover Jackson. Aminu last year also gave up a lot uncontested 3's to stretch 4's. Because of this it seems to be by design. Maybe in the long run it is a good strategy. Not sure, but rarely do I see our forwards out high on there man..... before they get the ball.

Remember when we thought CJ was a bust for the same reason? Good times.

That sounds like undisciplined defense from two of our best defenders. Doesn't it fly in the face of everything we know about Stotts' defensive philosophy, e.g., give up mid-range shots and contest the three point line?

Every forward in the league sees himself as a 3-pt specialist nowadays, so it can't be blamed on lucky shooting and/or bad scouting.
