Agreed, he was impressive. Showed off a wide array of moves and schooled Yi a few times. What do you think of the Knicks, MrJ? Solid win? How about Roberson? haha
We definitely have talent; it's just all about putting it together this season. I don't know how they will finish, but I can see them fighting for a final playoff spot if everyone stays healthy.

ill give u thing that the knicks have on the nets... coaching :p

Chandler is better than everyone on the nets but carter and harris.

I don't care about the final result in this game. I care about the fact that WE HAVE A CENTER! One with bona fide post moves and a darn nice touch. And one that can defend and board too. If Brook is 75% this good for the season, he will be a legit contender for ROY.

He's really been the most consistent young player on the team, if you count both ends. He had one bad half (his first) and otherwise has played decently to fantastic both ways. He had his fouls under control last game and this one, so he's not making the same mistakes over and over.

If Boone's health checks out, and thank God it sounds like it will, then we are going to have a very nice center combo to use. And the blessing in disguise is that Boone's absence has allowed Brook more room to shine in preseason than he would likely have had otherwise. And, after tonight, I think he has to be the favorite to start on opening night.

Yi's shot was off tonight, but he did show improvement in rebounding. Devin finally got on track in the transition game and had some nice drives in the half court. He made a couple of nice passes, although he's still not where he needs to be in terms of ball distribution and balancing his offense with team offense.

The other welcome development was Simmons' shooting. Finally was looking like the guy with a rep for knocking down corner 3s. If he could do at least that much on the season, it would help the team cause immensely.

Transition defense late first quarter and part of second was the main problem tonight. That's where the lead was built. Even so, Carter never played after the halfway mark of the 3rd, no Dooling, no Boone, no Hayes, no Najera, Yi's shot was off, we played guys significant minutes late who probably won't even be on the team, and we were still in the game up to the last minute. Knicks are inspired and were on fire. That won't always be the case. I'm not bummed, and I look forward to the rematch.

i am sick to death of our team getting the ball, and standing for what seems like 20 seconds, then taking a bad shot. i dont want us to be like suns, but come on, MOVEMENT!!!! lets see some movement from everyone.

we just need to work on defense... and a more consistent offense... so stagnent?!?! (spelling ?)

Relax guys is only preseason.carter played only 27 minutes and if carter was in the 4 we won this game

just watched the game on DVR.....a few points:

1) Yi's defense is really bad, they need to work on this 24/7 with him.
2) When Harris hits his shots it's great but at the same time he needs to be more of a PG, Too many turnovers, and bad passes from trying to do too much with the ball. Needs to get our 7 footers involved.
3)Back to getting 7 footers involved, especially tonight, Lopez had a huge size advantage in most cases and the ball needs to be dumped down to him. Same can be said with pick and rolls with Yi but more so with Lopez being that he actually has a post game.

4)As someone said above...WE HAVE A CENTER!!! Brook Lopez looks like he could be the real deal, very solid post and help def. and blocking shots all preseason. Has that nice jump shot, passes well, nice touch and can actually throw it down a bit. Rebounds very well. Just an all around good game.

Finally Frank showed us other plays.

That play where the PF/C comes across in the paint right below the FT line is a great play. With some more practice, I can see all the bigs benefiting from that play.

yi reminds me of a poor mans bargnani.....

Good comparison.
Both are soft 7 footers with bad defense, and both have a nice outside touch, and amazing offensive footwork.

Yi is way more athletic though.

i'd rather say Bragnani is a poor man's version of Yi

Looks nice.

Petey, I now know why War Poet said you would kill me. At first I thought he was referring to starting the game thread (in lame fashion with no graphics). Then I realized we'd chosen the same pic for an avatar, edited almost to the same crop. So I changed mine to just Vince, LOL.

Yi's defense is a big problem. Doesn't anticipate well, doesn't start running hard in transition right away, is often out of position. I wonder if Frank would consider starting Anderson in his place in one of these last two games? If nothing else, it would wake him up that he better start improving on that end or his minutes and starting job are going elsewhere.

I see. You have good avatar tastes, like Poet.

Really? I usually see Yi being the first and sometimes the only guy running back on defense. The scouting report is to expose Yi by attacking him and getting him in foul trouble. That's what they said on game commentary last night and you usually do that on young players anyway.

I tell you. Based on preseason, I want an avatar with Vince, Devin, and Brook in the middle, not Yi.

Brook subbing in for Yi:

With every picture I see of Brook, I feel he's at least semi-retarded.

LOL, thanks NOMAM. I didn't think to photoshop one, and probably wouldn't want to take the time anyway, but I'll save this one to my hard drive for future use . . . like the next game where VC, Harris, and Brook are all excellent.

you guys are WAY too forgiving of Yi. He completely sucked last game. You could see the frustration in the faces of the other players at him. He misses rebounds, didnt make his shots, doesn't know where to go on offense or defense, and gets blown by so easily.

How many times did Carter or Harris wave Yi away just so they could do their thing cause they dont trust Yi anymore. I know he missed a week of training camp, but this is no better than the shit he showed last year with the bucks and the crap he tried to pull with the Chinese National Team. He needs to learn how to do something else besides shoot the 20 footer.

I know he works hard at getting better. I fucking know that already. Every one and their momas on the nets and bucks say hes a hard worker, but when is that work going to produce on the court? I'm still seeing the same passive guy thats scared of contact and wont bang bodies for the rebound.

I'm sorry maybe im just going haywire because of a bad day. I honestly thought he would be much better when he was freed from Redd and Williams. Okay ima go get drunk or something. Sorry for rant.

(ps i didnt read the last few posts before the rant but i just did. nice photoshop!

damn ffz. don't worry.

but I agree with you, not to that extreme extent, but I agree with you. there were some times last night were very obviously devin and VC were frustrated with yi. there was one time when devin and yi were on a fast break and it looked like devin wanted to pass to yi, but yi looked a bit lost and devin had to do it by himself, that frustrated devin. there was another time when the knicks had a fast break but yi went to defend whoever it was, and didn't have his hands up- the knick scored the basket and got the foul, and then vince held his arms up demonstrating to yi how to do it. ouch.
