Fake news.

They refused to applaud for Real Americans, many of them heroes, some of them shattered victims of leftist failures.

Thank you for spot lighting this one. Yes, they failed to get the virtue signaling clue that time.

I'm just going to talk about this part so I don't get in trouble.

I have friends and classmates who were in the Obama White House who have stories about the President, his political staff and even the family behind closed doors. My father and another classmate have had interactions with Hillary. Another high school friend staffed for Harry Reid and hates him now, even though she's a far left (D). To a man (and woman) they talk about how often the politicians are horrible people to their subordinates, support staff, etc. I don't know if it's just that it's embellished for storytime. :dunno:

I've had two conversations with John Kerry about Small Business, and he seemed down-to-earth. But it seems that he's the exception among politicians, in that you almost have to have the gene to want to replicate a Sicilian mob boss and correct every slight with hate, discontent and meanness. I think that this President is just more open on social media and general "IDGAF" than previous high-profile politicians.
I know everyone has their own stories but I would be interested to hear the Obama stuff. A relative who, like you, is military got a pretty cool position in the Whitehouse during Obama's second term. He does have to interact on occasion with the President, both Obama and Trump. All his interaction with Obama according to him, were engaged, direct and very businesslike. He said he only spoke to Trump once which is surprising given his position. He said Trump was polite but the conversation which was supposed to be very detail heavy was brief and then Trump just walked away and left his staff to deal with the particulars (which was fine on this occasion). Neither were rude or abusive to the staff from what my cousin saw.

Anyways, I am sure there are terrible stories of most of them. I know it takes a certain ego to rise to that level in the first place.

I have other stories about Trump from a long time ago since a family member was killed in a helicopter crash while working for Trump, but all those stories are very untrustworthy because that side of the family despises Trump because of some slanderous things he said in the press after the death. So I can't really trust those stories.

I'd love to see his parade of tanks stopped by a million pink pussy hat marchers.

Pink pussy hats are racist. Vaginas come in many different colors. Please stay current with your political correctness.

Bullshit. Trump is an asshole, but he’s far from stupid. One of the best things he’s done is expose how crooked everyone in DC is. I’m not saying he isn’t crooked as well, but finally we’re getting the veil lifted on this crap.

So your view is that he's cleverly and purposefully lifting the veil on corruption in order to indict himself as well? That seems...pretty unlikely. I think you could argue that he's exposing corruption in DC by wallowing in it so conspicuously (whereas other politicians are usually a bit more polished in hiding it) but that only suggests that he's inept, not smart and principled.

No, my view is that he doesn't give a shit about his behavior. I don't think he's necessarily lifting the veil on purpose, but that it's a function of how he operates. There has been no proof that he is engaged in corruption while in office either. People need to stop riding that horse until there is.

And is that the mark of like, a smart person?

There is no proof that the blazers will ever win another game. People need to stop riding that horse until they do.

Trump doesn't drink, smoke, or take drugs. He never has. He grew up in a privileged environment and attended the best schools. He has a degree in Economics from Wharton College. He is worth billions of dollars. I would say the likelihood that he is intelligent is far greater than the likelihood that he is some idiot.

Your second statement is a non-sequitur.

Lots of stupid people don't drink, etc.. Lots of brilliant ones do. Don't think that's evidence of anything.

He grew up in a privileged environment and attended the best schools. He has a degree in Economics from Wharton College.

Growing up in a privileged environment doesn't make you smart. It does, however, gain you admittance to good schools. It doesn't make you learn anything while you are there.

He is worth billions of dollars.

Easier when (a) your daddy is rich, (b) you are willing to defraud people, and (c) you accept money-laundering payments from Russia. But still, I will admit he does have a nose for money.

I would say the likelihood that he is intelligent is far greater than the likelihood that he is some idiot.

I would say he's more ignorant than idiot. He's good at what he's good at - unfortunately what he's good at isn't entirely ethical/legal/moral.

Your second statement is a non-sequitur.

Not at all, athough it was a bit flippant. My point was that saying 'you shouldn't talk about anything until there is absolute proof' is not the way the world works. I also note that you limited your statement to the time he's been in office, which is interesting.

Well we shall see what happens with the investigation. You're entitled to your opinion.

We shall indeed. And you also are entitled to your opinion.

And I'll try not to say "I told you so".

I won't have any problem saying "I told you so". :)
