Just had this emailed to me.........

Tonight's win marks the best nine-game start (6-3) since 1999-2000 (8-1). Also first time the team has started 3-1 on the road since 1999-2000. Go Blazers!

It's been a fun road trip so far! I may be crazy, but I think the NOLA game is going to be tougher then people think. They just got their asses handed to them by PHX and I'm sure will be ready for us.

We've had trouble in NOR the last few years.

Paul can't play any better than he is right now. The problem is that Okafor is not Tyson Chandler, and the team is suffering because the key role players like Peja and Posey are aging.

Posey reminds me of the Super Bowl MVPs of the 90's that everyone would clamor for in the offseason.

Desmond Howard.

Larry Brown.

okafor is better than chandler.

the problem is that the hornets are literally a 3 man team. after paul, west, and okafor they have nothing. the bench bigs have been terrible, none of their 2/3s are any good, and they don't have a backup pg.

Not with Chris Paul. Chandler used to kill the Blazers on the pick and roll with Paul. Okafor is not a pick and roll player.

Yeah.. I'm a little fearful of this game and Charlotte. Two places we haven't played well in the past. CP3 can run circles around Andre and Blake, but outside of that, I think we have an advantage almost everywhere else.

and David West their second best option has played like shit this season.

Yup, just what we heard about Minnesota.

NO used to be such a tough match up for us because Paul would abuse our shower back court and they were so physical up front. I can't understand what happened to this team. In their 6 losses this year, they've lost by 17, 10, 6, 17, 18, 20 - It's not like they've had some heart breaking, nail biter losses. Their roster still looks good to me. Peja has been awful, and maybe he's just a really old 32 at this point with all of his past injuries. Posey's 32 as well - it's hard to imagine he's done already.

You know what the most amazing thing about their 3-6 start? Chris Paul is averaging 26/9 and he's shooting 62% from the field! And 65% from 3 point land! You would think that would be at least enough to keep them IN games, but they are getting whacked by double figures every night. They are giving up 110 ppg in their losses - brutal defense, which is baffling. Their personnel suggests that they would be better than average defensively with guys like Okafor, Paul, & Posey.

The last time we went to NO, we stole a game. Down by 20-something in the 2nd half, Paul left the game with an injury and we went on an amazing run. I believe that was the 1st time Portland had won at NO since before Paul arrived in 2005. I don't think they will overlook this game, and they should be rested with a day off (and the starters only played 20 minutes last night) It should be a good game.

Wow--look at some of his advanced stats. .736 TS%, 36.5 PER, and an Ortg of 144. Most amazing--2.5 win shares so far, on a 3-6 team! That is the very definition of a 1-man team!

We are on our way to a nice 18-0 start! :D

...was the emailer Jason Quick, perhaps?!?!?! :sherlock:

The Blazers (6-3) have won four in a row and are off to their best nine-game start in 10 years, since the 1999-2000 team raced to a 10-1 start. It was the Blazers' 10th consecutive win over Minnesota.

No, Jim Taylor media rep for the team. Looks like Quick got the same email!

Here's my question: if my team sucks, and I'm shooting 65% from the field, how the heck does he only average 26?!?

His FGA/min is .44. Comparatively, Roy's at .38, LMA's at .38, Travis's is at .44.

Kevin Martin would be averaging 40. :)
