I still don't understand why KP has to fear for his job, just because TP was fired.
Was there something said at the presser? I've been checking out sites, but all I can find are "opinions" and not really fact.
Who knows, but it's clear that the man at the top no longer feels confident in KP's ability to manage his team.
So, I don't see any similarities besides Vulcan being involved. To be honest, I think they made the right decision in Seattle. Holmgren wasn't getting it done.
You're over thinking things. KP has fallen out of favor with Paul Allen, simple as that -- the specific reason(s)? Who knows, but it's clear that the man at the top no longer feels confident in KP's ability to manage his team.
Is it? Really?
PA is dealing with Cancer right now, I don't think it's possible for anyone to understand the state he is in let alone who he is in favor of. This fact alone makes me doubt all the drama
KP has shown that he can build a decent team, but has yet to proove that he can get that team over the hump.
KP is not perfect. If we go in another direction all will not be lost. KP has shown that he can build a decent team, but has yet to proove that he can get that team over the hump.
That's like saying a college graduate has yet to prove he can rise to the top of his industry. Isn't that a little meaningless before he's actually had a chance to do so? Pritchard spent a few years turning a trainwreck into a very promising roster. This was really the first year that any expectations beyond just making the playoffs were reasonable, and then there was a wave of injuries.
So considering he's only so far had a chance to do the rebuilding phase, and has done that pretty excellently, I don't see how it's useful to claim he hasn't yet proven he can get a team "over the hump." He and the team are only now entering the stage where that's possible.

I never said he couldn't, nor did I say it was fair. The main point was pretty simple; letting go of KP is not the end of the world. As for the mocking about Sloan, can we all agree that the Jazz could have won without him? Or is this another absolute. I even gave credit to KP for building the team. I would also point out that assuming he can get the team over the hump is pretty assumptive.

He's built a team that went from the shithouse and thousands of empty seats to the playoffs and 100+ sellouts in three years. If you and the Vulcans can't recognize that achievement, then I think both of you deserve what I think is coming down the pipe for this franchise once Allen's sister takes over the reigns.
While that is a nice achievement in itself, is that the goal? I don't think KP has done a good job, and I don't think he has done a bad job. I just think he has done the job. There is no reason to rally towards keeping him on board, and there is no reason to rally for him to be fired. I guess I just don't understand what this is all about. The team has been here long before KP and will be here long after.

how do you know this as fact though?
Paul Allen statement: "Kevin Pritchard will be GM of the Blazers next season."
It's really that simple. If he says this, drama over, but his silence is deafening right now.
According to some of the rumors, doesn't KP want an extension? A statement like that would hurt Allen's leverage in extension talks. I just don't think we can read too much into the silence. You may be right, but there are other explanations.
