I have a (semi)serious suggestion for a new board feature. You know when people post praise for you - and you should also know how many people have you on ignore.

Under the current system, there is no form of negative feedback.

The rep system has a setting to allow/disallow negative reputation. We turned that on at another forum and people hated the negative reputation feature, so we never turned it on here.

I don't think there's a feature for showing who has you on ignore, but it's a good idea. Maybe there's a hack for vb3, but we'll be going to vb4 in the near future so we'll have to see if such a hack exists for vb4 soon.

Well if you start a thread or make a post and no one responds that should be your first clue... :biglaugh:

You know Denny this got me thinking, instead of banning people you should just make it so they are on "super ignore". They can post but no one can see them or their posts (you could since you own the place, lol) can their posts except for them. Most people who are banned are trolls or just socially retarded. They wear their bannings like a badge of honor. Why not f'ck with them. Just let them post away and let them become really frustrated because they never get the attention they are seeking.

Just an evil thought... :devilwink:

There are hacks for vb3 that mess with posters like you suggest. I'm perfectly capable of hacking on the source code or applying 3rd party hacks from vbulletin.org. I also read a lot about vbulletin security, and those hacks can be prone to allowing hackers to crack peoples' accounts or worse.

So unless it's a feature we can't live without, I am not eager to go installing things.

BTW, the Forum Rules link at the top is one such hack I did install.

So how do we know this is the real Denny Crane?

I'd prefer you just start a thread about someone if they annoy you.
