Protesters Storm U.S. Embassy in Cairo

Point 1. Let's start with the basics. Our collaboration with the Europeans to knock off Qaddafi was a major mistake--a disaster, in fact, and a disaster that Obama now owns.

Qaddafi financed the Berlin Discoteque bombing and the Lockerbie bombing. So, I'll shed no tears he is gone.

Point 2. (which directly conflicts with point 1) ...our dazzling ability to employ the instruments of war must be maintained and used as needed. The crazies will never love us, so they might as well fear us.

After sifting through his babbling rant it appears he is argueing with himself. Maybe it's a form of personal therapy.

Now they've gone too far. What did Col. Sanders ever do wrong to the Muslims, other than provide them with tasty, tasty fried chicken?

In response, KFC has dispatched a fleet of Extra Crispy Strips, as well as two unmanned Variety Big Box Meals to protect their interests abroad. This could get ugly.

Imagine if Bush were President. I bet Obama's handlers and their media sycophants are trying hard to pin this week on Romney.

Won't work. You can't hide incompetence for too long.

If bush had been in office, he would have already orchestrated a lie to invade these countries and you and other r's would baaaaahahing right behind him

If Bush would have been in office, there would have been better security protocols in place at our embassies and consulates. For all its faults, the Bush Administration took the anniversary of 9/11 very seriously.

I watched this video and it's 14min. I'll never get back of my life.

It was an obvious and blatant attempt to piss off these muslims and it worked.

Truly unbelievable that this piece of garbage cost an innocent person his life.

Religion of peace indeed.

The riots have nothing to do with the video. Don't be fooled by the smoke screen.

Can't be true. Obumbles says it's all because of the YoooToob.

When terrorists kill people under Bush, it's because of Bush killing terrorists.

When they kill people under Obama, it's because of the YouTubes.

Al-Qaida says US consulate attack 'revenge'

AL-Qaeda said the deadly attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya was in revenge for the killing of the network's number two Sheikh Abu Yahya al-Libi, SITE Intelligence Group reported.

"The killing of Sheikh Abu Yahya only increased the enthusiasm and determination of the sons of (Libyan independence hero) Omar al-Mokhtar to take revenge upon those who attack our Prophet," said al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula said in a statement, quoted by the US-based monitoring group.

Al-Qaida's Yemen-based offshoot did not claim direct responsibility for Tuesday's attack on the US consulate in Benghazi that killed the US ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans.

But it stressed that "the uprising of our people in Libya, Egypt and Yemen against America and its embassies is a sign to notify the United States that its war is not directed against groups and organisations ... but against the Islamic nation that has rebelled against injustice."

The statement comes four days after al-Qaida chief Ayman al-Zawahiri issued a video eulogising Libi, his late deputy and propaganda chief who was killed in a drone strike in June.

Mohammed al-Megaryef, the head of Libya's national assembly, said today that the attack on the US consulate in Benghazi was planned and "meticulously executed."

Tuesday's attack by armed men in the eastern city of Benghazi came amid a wave of protests in the Muslim world against a US-made amateur Internet film deemed insulting to the Prophet Mohammed.

Suspected Islamic militants fired on the consulate with rocket-propelled grenades and set it ablaze on the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States by al-Qaida.

Did I miss the memo? I was totally unaware that this "film" was directed and produced by Mr. and Mrs. Obama.

More YouTube madness. :MARIS61:

A chilling detail in this Reuters report on yesterday's protests at the US embassy in Tunisia from reporter Tarek Amara:

"Obama, Obama, we are all Osamas," they chanted, in reference to the slain al Qaeda leader, Osama bin Laden.

The protesters pulled down the U.S. flag flying over the embassy, burned it, and replaced it with a black flag emblazoned with the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith.

This film has nothing to do with Libya. Learn how to fucking read, and stop ignoring facts that contradict your silly view.

Looks like al Qaeda took revenge on the anniversary of 9/11 to me. People found out via facebook and protested on 9/11 in other countries.

But it's just so much more convenient to instantly place blame on Obama.

Facts shmacts.

The first coherent thought you've had in some time, PapaG.

Fez is proud.

true sarcasm doesn't need green font.

I wonder how ~55 days of this is going to affect the election.

You think PapaG would pull the "blame bush" crap?

Seriously?

Of course not.

If you read S2 you'll see that Bush had nothing to do with anything.

ANY.THING.

He had a lot to do with making govt. a lot bigger.

He had a lot to do with his education bill (no child left behind)

He had a lot to do with spending a vast sum of money on a prescription drug program for medicare without paying for it.

He had a lot to do with cutting taxes on EVERYONE, the rich got a lesser tax cut (%-wise) than the lower brackets did.

If you actually are factual in what you say he did, you might find some agreements.

Agree to disagree.

You can't sugarcoat shit.

You can make it look pretty but it's still shit.

The Bush years were one of the biggest disasters in U.S. history.

Um, duh? that's what ALL blaming of him is about? It's just easier to truncate it ;)

wait, were you saying those were positive things? Or just a few of those could be positive?

NCLB is a horrible program, and the spending $$ on prescription dugs w/out paying for it isn't positive either.

FTFY.

Nope. None of those things were meant as sarcasm.

I'd add that he tried to nation build in Afghanistan and Iraq, instead of leaving when it was "mission accomplished."
Though I'd also add that Clinton used military in Kosovo, Bosnia, Afghanistan, Sudan, Haiti, and about a half-dozen other places.
