League is a complete fucking joke. Hags got three games against Ottawa on a first offense. This clown Prust who has been suspended before gets two games.
 
Once Stepan was hurt with a broken jaw, I think Prust should have gotten 4 games, which would equal the max this series could go. BUT at least he got two games. With the NHL you never know. They claim to care about this stuff, but never show it really.

Not sure if that is a big loss on the ice anyway, but at least he got more than 1 game.

Either way I 1000000% guarantee a win in game 4.
 
lol the NHL is such a joke. They protect referees from "abuse" but do not protect players from broken jaws... joke
 
What makes this even worse is that Daniel Alfredsson hit he had a chance to defend himself Prusts hit on Stefan blindside

What can you do. We move on now. No excuses. We have played 33% of our playoff games against backup goalies after game 4.
 
Quintal was a Canadien after all..for those conspiracist theorists out there. The only real rationale is they deemed Hagelins a head shot and Prusts more of a body shot, but who knows.

it does boggle the mind that to this day we bring up the Hagelin hit. Talk about inability to move on. That said, Hags elbow made direct, intial contact with the head. Prust's shoulder was mostly chest.
 
f n joke!!!!!! a threat was put out in so many words since price was takin out and all he gets is 2 games? carcillio gets grabbed by a ref, in the state of mind carcillo was in he possibly didn't know at time it was a ref gets 10 games
 
Quintal was initially leaning toward one game but decided to drop the hammer on Prust when he learned of Stepan's injury, somewhere in Toronto Shanahan is smiling. I can think of a more recent hit similar to Hagelin's when Lucic drove Stralman's head into the boards in the Boston series knocking Anton out of the playoffs. No penalty, no review, no suspension. It's not about moving on 31, the Hagelin suspension offers a point of reference for discussion on a message board, it's mind boggling that you can't seem to grasp that. Criticism of the officiating is also fodder for the grist mill during postseason since it can frequently affect the outcome or circumstances of the game. I would put the numerous posts during the middle of the season regarding the Rangers as out of contention and having no chance of making the playoffs as far more inappropriate on a Rangers board.
 
The hammer is 2 games...LOL. Yes they did up the suspension from 1 game to 2 games after the injury was announced, but 2 games is soft. Once again the NHL says these are the kind of hits they want out, but their actions say otherwise. He should have been given 1 or 2 pre-injury, and 4 games post-injury. That's how it should have went down...no doubt.

And Prust clearly should have gotten a major like I said during the game. And the hit was as much jaw as it was chest. That is how Stepan broke his jaw.

We are where we are now. This should fire us up even more for Sunday night. I expect a big effort for a 3-1 lead.
 
Prust was going to be suspended one game for the hit but was given two games after the injury was announced. (JSB)



NHL really is sad and VERY inconsistent on these things. That's what makes it worse IMO.

What dont you get? Let me try again...a hit to the head caused a player ro be injured....guess Stepan is not as highly regarded by the NHL to come down on a player who did a reckless and dangerous bush league hit. Again if afredson wasnr against the boards the check would have been fine...maybe a roughing penalty but since it was against the glass his head had no where to go

And if Kris Draper wasn't near the board, the hit by C. Lemieux is just a 2min cross check penalty, right? And yes, it's just the latest case of the whiny bitching from the estrogen-ridden posters on this board.

Prust is already suspended, but that doesn't stop the bitching. Do you guys want him out of the league? what is it that you want to see so you stop whining like a bunch of menstruating women? It is a a joke and a complete embarrassment that as a fan base we cannot get over a hit that's over 2yrs old and keep bringing it up.

Looking forward to Big Mac making this team in the fall and ending this kind of shit as I don't see prust doing what he did if he has to answer to big mac. Then you wouldn't need the friggin unsafety committee to take care of things as prust would wake up in a hospital bed somewhere.
 
Yeah except Big Mac has to prove he can actually play defense before he can be brought up. If he dosen't get it by next year we're getting into Dale Purinton territory..for the 11th overall pick. They could use his snarl though.

Now I don't see any need to bring up what happened 2 years ago and connect it to a Prust hit, so I am with you there, but my lord who cares. People will say what they want. People are angry, so let them vent.

To me Prust should have gotten a major, and now should have been suspended 4 games (the max this series can go), but he wasn't. He got 2, which is better than 1, and we move on and focus on a HUGE game 4. Is what it is.

But if people are angry and compare it to Hags, so be it. You spend so much of your time on here knocking other posters and what they post and how they feel. I just don't get you bro. Are you just an angry person in general? You bump threads from the past to call people out. You get on people when they post things you don't agree with. Just chill man. People are bringing up a hit from two years ago because it notes the pathetic inconsistencies of the NHL. There doesnt seem to be any type of intelligence in the way they discipline the players. Haglin elbowed Alfredson and got 3 games even though he has no past examples of malicious intent to injure. As much as I did like prust at one point in his career, for him to complain about the Kreider/Price collision and then to then go out and level Stepan in a blatant attempt to injure and only got 2 games is absurd. The NHL has proven time and time again there are a different set of standards for certain players and organizations, that starts at the top of the league with Bettman and is pathetic excuse of running a business.

Secondly, you need to change your caveman mentality, you come off as a stereotypical American male whom needs to be some sort of Alpha Male that puts intellect on the back burner for some image of "toughness," if you're going to complain(much like Dumper) about people posting on a forum meant for discussing pretty much anything we want, Maybe you shouldnt be a Moderator or post here. Arrogance breeds ignorance.
 
Interesting side note - ref kevin pollock also officiated game with rangers-devils 5/19/12 when prust was suspended 1 game for elbow to devs volchenkov. Pollock also missed that play and didn't call a penalty on prust. Maybe he's related to prust or maybe league needs to sit down with him and explain what a penalty is. I know, I know, way too much free time on my hands till tmo.
 
Maybe him a Prust enjoy taking showers together.
