Yesterday a couple of my friends came over and we were gonna have like a Madden Tournament, but my PS2 kept on freezing. I think it froze every couple of minutes. The screen would freeze, and my Playstation would start making these weird noises. Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this?

You have to take off the cover of the PS2. Basically you have to unscrew, a couple of screws.

You should see where the lense is after that.

alright, thanks guys. The weird thing is, is that I tried GTA a couple of minutes ago, and it seemed working just fine. It seems like Madden is the onlly game giving me problems. lol. Anyways, thanks for the help though. I appreciate it

You have friends?

Maybe Madden was scratched.

I don't know how it could have gotten scratched though, but yeah, that's a possibility.

Yes I have friends

Get spectacle spray cleaner and give the disc a spray and wipe.

Or get a lens cleaner DVD, that has helped my PS2.

I also have problems with my PS2. Sometimes, it won't play certain games or DVD's. I'm gonna do what that link said.

DO NOT REMOVE THE COVER OF THE PS2

Use a cleaning disk by Fellowes that comes with a floppy cleaning lotion. You can pick it up at Office Max and your PS2 will work perfectly. Removing the cover or any component without knowledge of electronics and how to repair them could damage your device. The first thing most places will ask you if you bring your stuff in is if you opened the device and then they likely will not touch it if it is broken. Use the Fellowes cleaning device, quick, easy, simple.

I've fixed about 30 of those machines in my lifetime. That link is full of crap.

Well, I haven't tried it yet. I'm sticking with Mamba's theory of the disc being scratched. I tried playing some other games this morning, and they worked fine. It's just Madden that's giving me problems

Then buy a disk doctor scratch removal device if the game does have a scratch on it. There are also creams that can fix it too. Just remember if you plan to wipe the underside of the game do not use circular motion, wipe straight away from the center.

alright, thanks for the advice.

I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it, but I'll definetly look into it

NP. It is an expensive device anway, try looking for a cleaning cream or oil first.

Where can I get those scratch rremoving creams M Two One?

Probably Best Buy or any other electronics store. You can ask the guys who work there, but Best Buy and similar places tend to hire morons who don't know much.

I think the same thing happened to my cousin on his PS2. We were going to play Madden 07, but he said it kept freezing like a couple snaps into every game. But, every other game worked fine. Probably a scratch on his then too.

Use carwax on scratched CDs it really works.

My playstation2 can't read any discs anymore, I tried all my games and DVD's and it just makes a wierd noise...

First try to make sure everything is correctly plugged in and set up. If it can't read the disc then use an optical lense cleaning disc. Buy a Fellowes one at an Office Max or other similar stores. Also be sure to vacuum the back fan of your PS2 as well as the front filter. If the problem still persists it could be a lense malfunction or an uncleanable filter (I don't know if you clean it or not). Tell me if this solves your issue.
