Top-seeded Peng Shuai of China fell to Misaki Doi of Japan 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 in the second round of the Thailand Open on Wednesday.

In the first meeting between the two, Doi handed Peng her earliest loss in Pattaya as she had reached at least the quarterfinals in four previous appearances.
