It's about 30 hours to the 2018 draft.
No excuses, no late bids.

Just answer the poll question.

Poll closes in 24 hours.

State reasons.

Neil says they need vets. A late first rounder is the last thing that fits his plan. Non impact youth.

He'll trade the 24th in a package for a vet and 2nd rounder

Unfortunately the 24th pick will not get you a difference making vet in trade... that players just isn’t out there... you have to draft, and draft upside... I’d be happy with Anfernee Simons or Dzanan Musa. Only way to upgrade the team short term and long term is to trade CJ...

Part of a package

I say Neil trades 24 plus something else to move up and get someone he wants--my guess, Troy Brown. He loves the draft too much and I'm not sure we can get any real value by trading 24 for a vet.

I don't necessarily agree, but I think it's a trade chip. We may get an (multiple?) impact rookie(s) out of this draft, but it won't be in Victor Claver/Nolan Smith range.

Hmm, cant say that I agree with either of the two categories listed. I do not believe that the couses has been decided as of yet.
A) If a solid player falls into their range, I can see the team keeping him.
B) If the right trade is presented, obviously they make it.
To say they draft BPA and "develop" yet another so-so talent, I would like to believe they do not do that yet again, but history shows that tendency.

The problem, as many have identified, is that the draft is before free agency.
With the way it is, it makes sense to lock in a young player with a fixed SUPER-LOW
salary, and then worry about getting vets in free agency.

Of course, there are trades, and using our pick as part of a trade makes some sense.
However, I hope it doesn't happen. Personally, drafting is one of Neil's strengths.

I think we should trade the 24th pick for 2 12th picks.

And then trade the 2 12th picks for 4 6th picks.

Then trade those picks for 8 #3 picks.

“Look. At the end of the day, we explored our options and did our due diligence. We didn’t feel like our trade options were viable for the vision we have for our future. We are confident that (draft pick) will be an important piece moving forward and will be a valuable asset to our organization.”

Personally I like a heavy pick...my favorite I've had for 35 years..

Sly has more experience with this kind of pick from his chain gang days:

Not enough options. I think we keep the pick, then trade it during the season.

I think we'll be drafting for another team and buy a 2nd round pick or acquire one in the deal...if Lebron goes to Houston we could get Eric Gordon...lot of vets are going to get shopped to clear space for Paul George, Lebron and Kawhi

Unless we get really lucky pick 24 really doesn’t do us any good. It’s either part of a trade to nab a vet or used to lose a contract like Meyers or Turner

I feel like anyone we took at 24 would at least have a chance to do us good down the road I just fail to see how shedding salary would help us out since were so deep.

If we shed salary I think we'd probably do it at the deadline in Feb....with any luck expiring contract guys could raise their trade value early in the season or you could just dump them for future picks.
