YES, STAB THAT CAT!

It would be stupid for Biden to bring twice impeached loser to Queen's funeral.

Cats don't need to be knighted. They are born royalty.

I'm ok with Biden taking Trump along as long as he doesn't let him come back.

Oh, I am. I just think he should serve as King of England, that's what I meant.

Only if Boris Johnson is back as the PM. I think the whole world wants to observe their weekly meetings

Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II of Australia.

I have no love for monarchy, but I will miss Liz.

She’s been such a constant, steady, calm presence in everyone’s life, it feels strange that she’s gone.

It’s a bit like your grandmother, or elderly neighbour dying.

My grandmother received a letter from the queen when she turned 100.

Interesting.....from a colleague of a family member:

Just returned from France, where I lived for 7 yrs with Paribas. Stunned by the Queens loss and amazed we are going to see the largest diplomatic gathering ever I know of next Monday.

Add another decade of living in Europe, it's very hard even for me to really to figure out the true state of politics in Europe from the US. Because it's always seen through a US lens. Which distorts signicantly. Mindful of course that you can't live in Europe without the backcloth of the gravesites representing every part of the US.

One thing I found stunning.

During the 70's, France via EDF, engaged in one of the most stunning business adventures I know of. To go nuclear and finance it mostly with US commercial paper. A HUGE brave decision.
Fast forward to 1990 and we at Paribas identified EDF, and many other great French companies, as targets to take global. I remember so well that EDF's only involvement internationally at that time, certainly outside Europe, was a consulting contract to help the Chinese with one of their first nukes.

Reading French newspapers, I was stunned to learn that 36 of 56 EDF reactors are down due to either maintenance or repair, with major corrosion problems in many cases. And having monstrous problems with Flammaville, their first EPR.

But, connecting some dots, the Chinese are also now heavily involved helping the UK with Hinckley C, the first nuke in a while. Not clear exactly how, and maybe someone has a perspective.
To me, this is a stunning indictment of both US & European energy policy.

But, returning home to Arizona via DC, when you get off the plane, you have to ask yourself whether Washington has either the smarts or the will to absorb these lessons. Particularly when people got elected on platforms they would be forced to admit they got wrong.

God Save the King....and Ukraine.

Ok?

I am so fucking sick of hearing about the queen's funeral services.

I do not give a shit about the British monarchy.

There's actually been a ton of real news this past week, but why cover that when the husband of a 3rd cousin of Prince Whinybutt IV is standing near the coffin?

It's been a couple centuries since your prime, why such frustration this week?

I agree. Report it. Pay respects. Offer condolences. Attend funeral. But we are Americans and a little something happened in 1776.

I am wanting to reread Tom Paine and watch Hamilton.
