It appears the Pope has been drawn into a major child molestation case regarding a priest that was not defrocked and the Pope (while not the Pope at that time), played some role in the administration aspect of the case. So that leads me to consider the following:

1) If this is a criminal case, can the Pope be forced to testify at deposition or trial? I realize he lives in Vatican City and I also wonder if he maintains a type of diplomatic immunity.

2) If he is compelled to do so, what would he wear? A suit? Is there some official Pope garb for business occassions?

1) No, can't be forced. He's viewed as a head of state. It would similar to Obama being forced to testify in a different country.

2)What he normally wears would be my guess.

That's outrageous. Old Palpatine beat up on a greenhorn Luke Skywalker who was already exhausted from fighting Vader. Young Palpatine got his shit pushed in by Mace Windu. One-on-one Obi Wan would get the drop on him and put him out.

IT WAS ALL A RUSE. PALPATINE WAS CONTROLLING THAT FIGHT THE ENTIRE TIME AGAINST WINDU. HE HAD ALREADY SLAUGHTERED 3 JEDIS. MACE WINDU WAS A BETTER SABERIST THAN OBI WAN SINCE HE USED HIS TECHNIQUE WHERE HE WOULD SUMMON SOME OF THE DARK SIDE.

No, I don't subscribe to this theory. I don't agree that he allowed his body to melt just to get Anakin's help. He had no idea if Windu would even kill him. Windu's lightning-reflecting lightsaber was winning him the fight handily. Palpatine used Anakin as a distraction but it wasn't a set-up, IMHO.

WHY WOULD PALPATINE KILL WINDU KNOWING THAT ANAKIN WAS GOING TO SHOW UP? HE WOULD GAIN SYMPATHY IF WINDU WAS KICKING HIS ASS. IT WAS ALL PART OF THE MASTER PLAN. HE TARGETED ANAKIN FOR YEARS TO BE HIS APPRENTICE.

EVERYTHING WAS PLANNED. IN THE FIGHT THERE WAS A POINT WHERE PALPATINE COULD HAVE EASILY SLASHED WINDU BUT JUST HELD IT AT HIS THROAT.

I was convinced when he transitioned into All-Caps. When that starts breaking out, it's best just to back away slowly.

I'm feeling Pope Benedict as Mumm-ra. Although isn't the Pope older?

Yeah, I'm not going to bring up the fact that for all his plotting, Palpatine had terrible, terrible ideas in the prequel trilogy. All of his strategies made no sense. But I'll give you the Anakin/Windu battle.
