On MSP right now--says they won't do any significant roster reshaping until later this summer.

Anybody find the 2nd comment interesting? or am i trying to read to much into it

Later this summer? is that with all the cap space they have? Is that with all of ther FA's banging down the doors at 1 center court to play in a small market with shitty weather during basketball season? Unless later this summer means after July 1st when the ppp contracts settle in.

Can't wait for the we like our team speach

I thought "later this summer" doesnt exist for KP

If I hear it once I will scream.

We like our team.....that got it's ass handed to it the last 2 years in the playoffs.

Blazers will continue to pursue chris paul in the SUMMER....sigh...

There are so many free-agents out there, and only a few that will really command premium numbers - that I would not be surprised to see Portland luck into a secondary star for "cheap" using a S&T with the expiring.

PPP has been in effect since Brandon and LMA inked their extensions last summer, that provision expires in 6 days and instead they move into the slightly less restrictive BYC status, but your larger point stands; this has classic, "we like our team" written all over it.

I agree. The last few days I have been thinking the same thing. We are a un-desireable destination for some, but extremely attractive for others.

OK, I'm gonna forget about Chris Paul; let's go back to thinking about Darren Collison this summer. Przbilla, Bayless and either Rudy or Cunnnigham and Pendergraph for Collison and Okafor. That might be a lot less disruptive than going after Paul and I don't have to stress about whether Oden and Batum will become superstars for another team.

Isn't the ordinary for KP to do 3 deals plus?

Teams get better the longer they play together. Plus they were not healthy for any length of time which I'm hoping they will be. Sometimes just adding one player turns the tide as Buck Williams did. I am one that hope we are patient and make no major changes. Of course if the right deal came along to improve the team I'd do it, but not just change for the sake of change which some seem to want.

As Pritchard's PR man, Quick is lowering expectations from his previous blue sky words of swinging for the fence. I predict the truth today will be somewhere in between. (I left myself just a weeee bit of wiggle room there.)

Change for the sake of change is always wrong, but I think people confese change for the better for change for the sake of change.

Hypothetically, turning Aldridge, Rudy, Joel and a draft pick into Bosh is change for the better because you win with the best 5, not you second 5 being better than the other guys second 5. Being patient has got us nowhere, and it's time to start thinking about cutting the cake.

So, if the Hornets are not willing to make a deal before the draft, but are going to be weighing their options this summer, would you prefer that the Blazers not keep trying to be in the hunt?

Conversely, I saw it as change for the sake of change when Pritchard made 6 trades on draft day, half of which were just trading that year's 2nd rounders for the next year's.

Pritchard always takes a vacation after mid-July, and is never in the hunt. If it goes beyond then, Pritchard is helpless.

And you are aware that a move to get Bosh or another of the free agents through a sign and trade couldn't happen before July, right? The off-season begins today, not ends. Perhaps you should delay your woeful bleatings about the Blazers doing nothing until they actually do nothing.

So did KP strikeout while swinging for the fence?

I suspect that whatever KP does in July will have little to nothing to do with what the Blazers are doing.
