Quick says look for a trade on draft night for a center

The cap will be at 60mm according to many sources that seem to have knowledge of these kinds of things. I know our own Storyteller has posted that number on BE once or twice

I don't like any of the options Quick presents. I want Dalembert.

It sure feels that there arent a lot of good options (or ANY realistic ones) to be hopeful for.

Same age as Varejao, wayyyyyy cheaper.

There are just no better options when you look at contribution and cost.

Now the questions are: Would he have a desire to play here and would we have to overpay him to get him to come here?

yheeeegads, I had to listen to that waste of human flesh, chad the fuck ball, too listen to quack pontificate? give me back my 30 mins..

You could have interviewed wino joe, behind the stands and recieved better insight

why did you listen for 30 minutes? should have just went to the 22 minute mark like MM mentioned. Would have made life easier on you.

Easy, he is not very coachable; he doesn't defend well, despite being a very good shot blocker; he is a mediocre rebounder; he has little offensive game outside of dunks (which he does very well - so that's something); and he can't finish games due to horrible free throw shooting.

Also he has expressed some displeasure with his minutes, If the Clippers can get rid of his salary (don't know if that is possible) they can re-sign Chris Paul and make a run at another high priced FA.

I was big on Jordan, but after reading these comments, maybe not.

Dalembert is the most cost effective option of what we are looking for. Would even let us keep some space to sign another player or make a lopsided trade for assets.if a team wants to dump.a little salary

I absolutely think he would come here with the probability of starting.

I dont think dalembert is a big enough fish for olshey though

It will be interesting to see if Olshey and the Blazers "settle" this summer unlike last, or if they can continue to be patient.

Hawes could be had I am sure, but not what he has described as needing

We could certainly do worse the Hawes. He isn't inspiring, but he has a solid skill set and might be able to teach Leonard a thing or two. And his salary wouldn't be too high.

Mediocre rebounder?

He's been a better rebounder than Noah this season. He's been a better shot blocker as well.

I also don't agree that he's a mediocre defender.

Hawes plays no defense and is a high post center. Not what we need

Does anyone think okc would give us assets with perkins to dump him?

Are Pek and Gortat really our best options?

No. Did someone say they were?

I'm just not seeing a whole lot of other options. I don't like renting Dalabert, we need someone with a solid body and low post game who is at least 6'10" and is available as a free agent or trade. Robin Lopez is a big body who doesn't do anything especially well, and it gets hard to find others that fit within the desired age range. Unless Denver or Utah is feeling generous toward us the pickings get relatively slim.

They are out there

Mahinmi is a name no one has mentioned

Dalembert would be a stop-gap, but he would be a good stop-gap. We just need 2-3 years out of him and probably 20-25 mins per game. Hopefully Leonard will have developed his game in a couple of years to the point he is the every day starter. None of the centers available to us would be a long-term solution.

Does anyone think olshey is a gambling man and throws the house at bynum?

Signing Bynum would just be a horrible move. Might as well go get Oden too so we could have the rehab twins on the same team.

Jordan sucks. The guy we should go after is Javale McGee. Very talented triple double threat who is still young. He is potential All Star.

We did not decide to draft Bayless on draft night. That was decided until Armon Johnson looked better (according to Nate) in training camp.

Bynum is not the same as Oden. Bynum has proven himself in this league and won two championships. Even if Oden gets healthy, we're still not sure he'd be any good. Yes, Bynum, has injury issues but I think it's worth the risk. We're a contender if he's healthy.

Oden would have two championships as well if he was on the Lakers with Kobe.
