A Tip of The Cap to a Real Rock Hero:

Having played bass with most of rock's greatest stars (and influencing many), he also managed to co-write one of my favorite ballads.

Here he is singing the vocals with Leslie West.

I don't think I've ever heard someone pick up a bass for the first time without playing the intro to Sunshine of your Love...Lead singing bass players are rare..McCartney, Sting, a few out there but Jack was a huge influence on rock and roll. Watched some documentary about Ginger Baker and Jack was interviewed a bit on it. Seemed like a genuinely good guy. He will be missed. Thanks for posting the Leslie West piece. He was one of the last concerts I saw (Mountain) before Uncle Sam sent me overseas. RIP Jack!

Saw on the news last night that he died. What better tribute can there be but to say I loved his music?
