GMJigga, god forbid that someone changes. What were you like at 17 years old? Then what were you like at 24 years old? Doubt the two were too smilar. She just grew up more, I don't see what the big deal is.

And think, those are the WORST POSSIBLE PHOTOS of her (if its even her....), and she doesn't look that bad in those pictures either (and that might still not be her.).

It's not the changing. You're right, everyone does that while growing up. This isn't long-term changing, this is fabrication of self. It's selling out to the glizz and glamour after establishing yourself as someone who denounces that lifestyle. Had her career been established as this superficial-pop, I wouldn't have this criticism.

I still don't get what your saying...fabrication of self? I don't see what your talking about.

She still acts like the same immature punk she used to be. Just the style of her music videos has changed really, and Girlfriend was good for what the song was, When You're Gone was an AMAZING video, and Hot, that video is the only one that sucks, and thats the directors fault, not her.

But she could be the same immature punk she used to be:

Could be, but that doesn't sell. My fabrication of self point can be summarized as her selling out to the commercial pop image, despite establishing her career as someone who denounced it.

Dyed her hair blonde, put on more make up, got rid of her skater-look. She's no better than those girls she was supposed to contrast, in fact she's even worse; she let the all mighty dollar quiet her morals and values, and she became one of them. It's that hypocracy thats rooted in her weak-morals and belief system that I find objectionable.
