I've never thought about this, but it must be odd having to choose between multiple teams in the same vicinity (IE Dodgers, Angels, Giants; White Sox, Cubs). Especially if all teams are successful.

How can I stay awake and actually pay attention?

That's a toughie. I still have that problem.

You could try having a shit load of caffeine and/or sugar before class.

Or, you could attempt to write down every word he says. I try that sometimes, usually fun.

Personally, I just chill out, let my mind wander, and text/draw every once in a while...and then study and do homework to gain knowledge in that class.

It's an AP class; that's the only reason I'm concerned. I don't want to suffer later on just because I didn't pay attention, nor do I feel like catching up on the material at home.

Slap yourself in the face. Works every time.

Seriously though, pay attention to taking notes. That always used to keep me focused. My history teacher sophomore year was like that, and the first few weeks were hell. Then, I started to write more and more, and it seemed to make everything a lot less boring. Keeps you preoccupied. Makes the time fly by fast as hell, too.
