I'm loving "Deliverance" by Bubba Sparxx at the moment. I don't know why I never really listened to it before now, but I just downloaded it tonight and completely dig it. I know he's not that good, and I know some people think it's poppy, but to hell with that, I just like it.
It's got that nostalgic feel to it even though I never listened to it before. Some songs trigger memories of hearing them and the time period when you listened to those songs, but some songs like "Deliverance" trigger memories even though they're new to you, whether it be because of the music, the lyrics, etc. Maybe it's because it has that country feel to it, and I was raised in a country city.
Anyway, I'm already missing Rothbury. That will go down as maybe the best five days I've had in my life. I always thought nothing could top those 12-14 yr old years when I was just discovering the world and had a lot of beautiful firsts, but then I went to my first real music festival this past weekend and made a similar memory. I just can't even think of how to describe it without typing page after page on it. It'll probably be one of those things that I never tell the full story to anyone but then in conversation I'll bring it up, like "oh yeah, that reminds me of this one time at Rothbury where ______." Good times, good times.
