Re: Random Thought Thread

Do you use it? I'm asking seriously. Cause I've never seen anyone use it.

In order to get through my Engineering course work, I absolutely had to use it. I then chose a career path where I didn't need it.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Calculus II for Mathematical and Physical Sciences.

Years ago when I tool Calc, I was on the quarter system, so I'm sure what my Calc 2 covered was different in scope from what you will study.

Will you hit sequences and series in this class?
Three dimensional space?

Sequences and series, yes. I think.

She mentioned what we're doing for the semester briefly at the start of class, but she didn't explain it. The syllabus is on the web-site somewhere, but I haven't checked yet.

Plus, she's Chinese and a little hard to understand, so the first 5 minutes of class were used to help adjust to her style of speaking.

I don't think she mentioned three dimensional space, though.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I took Business Calc for Lower Division, and we use it in my Finance classes, and alot of the forumlas from Business Calc actually make my work faster in those classes or classes that don't expect you to use Calc, but you see a practical application for it.

And I'm interested in Sports Marketing too, I might be interning soon in the Marketing Department of Disney here in CA. Hopefully they liked me.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I'm taking Calc BC in junior year, and Calc 3 in Senior year. Should be fun stuff.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I can't decide whether to re-take the SAT in October or November. If I go with October, that means some hard studying starts next week for me.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I see your calculus and raise you organic chemistry. I have a horrible teacher, too. :(

Re: Random Thought Thread

You'll use your calculus in a variety of jobs: Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Biology, etc.

If you aren't going to be in one of those fields, you will forget all you learned about Calculus after a few years :)

My Org Chem prof is pretty decent at least.

In fact, I have to go to school right now... Peace.

I would go for October and get it over with. Right now you're probably in your "I'm gonna try hard" mode.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I didn't study at all for the SATs. I passed easily.

Re: Random Thought Thread

That's gambitnut, and if you don't want me to post in all of the baseball forums to try to get activity going, post in some of them yourself.;):p:D
I post in the Sox forum as much as possible. Echoes. And when I go on my regular spamming sprees on Boston related sports forums, none of those pricks take the bait. :(

Re: Random Thought Thread

Yeah I took my AIDS test; passed it; got a 65.

Re: Random Thought Thread

You can't pass nor fail the SAT.
Well, I got a good score then. My HS guidance counselor told me that ____ was the pass/fail point. Apparently SHE LIED....

Re: Random Thought Thread

With all 3? You can do much better. Guessing you didn't do too well on the math section.

Re: Random Thought Thread

They screwed you on the writing section, didn't they, Joker?

They screwed me over, too. My proctor explained it wrong. Dumbass.

That's why I'm going to be studying extra hard for the next month. I'm going to sign up tomorrow, and next week the fun begins.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I'm not sure how many pages I should do a day.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Was re-introduced to the world of calculus today.

Yep, still sucks.

No math FTMFW. Sociology/Films and Digital Media require no math. Gotta take statistics as a junior if I continue in sociology but theres no reqs to get in the class, they just assume you don't know anything about math.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Honestly, my first day today was alright. I only had one class. I actually enjoyed it. For once, I'm not sharing a classroom with a bunch of retarded inbred hillbillies.
