Hey, where is a good place to purchase a domain? godaddy.com? Are they really only $10/year for a domain?

ok I checked the prices and it advertises $9.99 for the first year. Where would I build the website? Microsoft Frontpage?

I use Godaddy. It's good stuff. A ton of websites use Godaddy. It's the premier web services company right now.


It would depend on what your website is going to be about. I don't use anything like Frontpage or Dreamweaver. Just have the wordpress software running, and hacked it up a ton.

K, I narrowed it to godaddy.com and domainsite.com

I was wondering if I needed a web host. No one is going to be searching around for my webpage, it will be directly linked to an advertiser. Do I still need a web host for that?

Yes. You need webhosting to host your files.

You have to look at space (how many GB of files you can store), bandwith (amount of file transfer), database support, which codes it supports (PHP, Cold Fusion, etc.).

I'd recommend going with a linux based server.

It's cold as hell in Memphis, 9 degrees. For a lot of you that's nothing but living in the deep south below 20 degrees is death.
