They're useless and they suck. Try to talk your way out of it, or just straight up refuse.

Idk, I'm just a bitter ex-brace wearer. I used to wear braces...now, my bottom row teeth are fucked up cause my retainer was messed up, and I have a missing front tooth.

Getting an implant sooner or later, but it's gonna take at least half a year. For now, I'm wearing a flapper (fake tooth, like plastic). It's pretty lame.

Well, after a week straight of wearing it every night it hurt when I put it in. I remember calling the orthodontist, and him telling me to keep wearing it, but after a while I just stopped because it hurt too much. It was such a bitch...I think maybe they took out the braces too soon.

I can't remember exactly, but I think I wore my braces for about 2 years.

I had braces and I didn't think they were all that bad. I tried to refuse when I first heard the words "you need braces," but it didn't work. Rebelling against your parents on a subject that concerns your health when you're only 12 doesn't really do any good. I got lucky though with the timing, since I was just starting 6th grade when I got them. I had them for about 2 and a half years and got them off in October of my 8th grade year. (Your teeth feel ridiculously smooth once you get them off, unless you get that invisalign stuff. I had the classic metal ones).

Once they're off, you get a nice retainer that starts to smell like crap after about a month. They tell you that you need to where it at night for the rest of your life. What crap. I think I wore mine until the end of my sophomore year of high school. Haven't put it in for a single night since then and my teeth still look perfect. My dentist, who is also an orthodontist, hasn't said anything about my teeth re-positioning either, so I guess it's all good. The retainer was the worst part of the whole experience, IMO.

Same here dude. I had braces for two years had to wear my retainers. later on it wouldn't fit properly so i stopped and now my teeth are getting worse. =/

LOL this lady call work today claiming that our fries..get this BROKE HER DAUGHTERS BRACES. She said they're were stone hard, and she didn't get the right order. When the manager said why didn't you tell the person at the window(Me) about it, she said "he was being so sweet we didn't want to fuss at him"

LOL I'm doing something right.
