Any of you watched the special program on CNN, Black in America?

It was interesting to see all the stories.

I watched it, it was indeed interesting although I don't agree with the entire views of the show, of course.

Me neither HK, they could have done a much better job portraying the story of being a Black man in America. They should have done a better job telling the history and continuing on to the current times.

I agree with you on this.

Sort of off topic: In the Spike Lee segment I noticed a "Do the right thing" clip (a movie of his), and was reminded of how biased the ending of that flick was. It was inappropriate to me.
 
My religious studies prof nominated my final essay assignment for some sort of Dean's Essay Competition, and then said that he was willing to write a reference letter when I asked. Fucking hell, that's a relief.

Haha, that's what I thought too. I hope these guys aren't commentators for the upcoming NBA season.

So... I'm playing NBA 2K8 online and have a 2 point lead on the Lakers with a couple seconds to go. Pau Gasol hits a contested one-handed runner over Eddy Curry from about 18 feet to send it into OT (I had 0.6 left but couldn't even get a shot off).

In OT I'm down 1 and am about to take the lead with about 9 seconds to go. Marbury drives down the lane and decides to lay it up behind the backboard. After they call the out of bounds, I fouled him and he made both free throws. Crawford then misses a wide open look for three and I lose.

I know the Knicks aren't that good, but they usually don't miss wide open layups, and they sure as hell don't lay the ball up behind the backboard.

Also, the alley-oop thing is ridiculous. I know Kobe is good, but there's no way he's floating from the 3-point line to do a 360 windmill on three players.
 
No matter how good a game is, I haven't seen one that's able to stay authentic while online.

Braces suck. I've had them on for a few months, I'll get them off sometime during my senior year.

Good luck. I remember when I used to have braces. At least when you see the results you will be a happy man. Trust me, it's worth it. If I didn't get braces I'd look like a jackass right now
