Re: Random Thought Thread

Well, that proves it. Nets fans are among the smartest in the league. NJ and NY, 3rd and 4th respectively. Win. Get off my nuts.

Btw, I always used to post in locked threads, cause I never even noticed they were locked. :\

Really?

Re: Random Thought Thread

Searching for a parking spot was pretty hectic in the morning. I ended up being parked about 10 minutes away from my school (walking distance). But that wasn't a big deal. I was actually afraid of getting a ticket, because the only spot I found was near a fire hydrant. Not sure if my car was too close, but luckily no ticket!

Re: Random Thought Thread

Same here! last period!

Re: Random Thought Thread

I love not staying till 2:50. I get home around 1:45, it's sick. It's also Friday, so I hope to go out and party or chill with some friends.

Re: Random Thought Thread

It's not that bad at all. It's just that I get homework every single day no matter what including weekends. It's just a lot of work. It's really confusing at first but I'm getting the hang of things now. Oh and also, I'm taking Pre-Cal Honors which is harder than regular Pre-Cal. Teacher absolutely sucks. And I'm also a junior which means I'm taking an above grade leveled class. But I'm just getting used to it, so it shall be fine!
Yeah, lots of homework. I'm a sophomore, and the teacher is pretty difficult, but nice.

I wanted a schedule like that my senior year but couldn't get it. Had to take art class because I never bothered the previous 3 years. Fridays were cool though I went to school from 9-12:10.

HS still sucked ass though. Glad I got out of there.

Eddie Izzard reminds me of Louis Black in drag.

Re: Random Thought Thread

I'm getting tired of trying to figure out what is ok and not here. There's no TOS or Rules posted anywhere, and I'm told by admins stuff like there is nothing against trolling and baiting, but poop content is not allowed? Who is deciding this? How am I supposed to know? Can someone lay these out for me? It's rather ridiculous for me to just guess "what's allowed and what isn't", and I don't wanna hear "use your common sense", because that doesn't work, and then all of a sudden I do something that's not allowed.

Re: Random Thought Thread

Everything is allowed until the mods wanna piss you off :D

Yea, baiting and trolling are allowed but I'm not allowed to write a story about how I almost shit my pants and had to crap in a plastic bag. That makes sense.

lol, when I was like 10 and in a day camp, they always take forever to get going and it was a long ride and I didn't get to take a piss before we got on the bus. I pissed my shorts on the bus. Reminds me of I think Billy Madison.

Football season has finally arrived.........

And it started with the dud of a game that was Washington-New York.

Thank God I was hammered for that...

I kept flipping between the convention speeches and the game. The speeches won out eventually.

It was hard for me to try and take my eyes off the train wreck known as the Washington Redskins...

Though.. Eli didn't exactly light it up, either.

Re: Random Thought Thread

8. We can't anticipate all of the things the staff may find unacceptable. Again, it is completely the discretion of SportsTwo staff to enforce any unwritten policies they deem fit, and you are expected to abide by these judgements.

Doesn't that just neutralize all the rules? Why just make one rule that says "S2 staff can do whatever they want, make whatever rules they want and enforce them as they see fit"?

The first seven are the rules that we intend to apply. Rule 8 is for circumstances we don't currently anticipate. I'm sure someone will come up with something that needs to be addressed.

We've never had to post rules before, because people here have generally been pretty good about things in general.

But you wanted them, you've got them. These were the rules posted in the mod forum on day 1 of S2.

It's easier to have rules like that, for good and for bad.

For Good:
1. It eliminates the need to have 20 or so rules.
2. Legalistically it eliminates loopholes, someone trying to argue, "oh well this specific rule wasn't there." ie., members shouldn't track down other members and tp and egg their houses.

For Bad:
1. Leaves members in the dark about large amount of gray areas, and even with good intentions, one member's definition (or mod for that matter) of what should be acceptable or not acceptable can be quite different. Umair for example thinks the site is barbaric, while other mods disagreed with him.

Umair didnt think the site was barbaric...he said it needed to be cleaned up a bit. Umair and I both came from JBB where profanity and stuff was prohibited and even with that rule in place, we still had alot of posting going on. Umair and I are cut from the same thread, so theres one mod that actually backs him. I'm not going against the system we have here, I'm fairly easygoing as most of you know, but just some input.

The gray areas are generally acceptable. It is our expectation that if a poster is making the site less fun for the rest of the community, we can straighten it out with a friendly PM.

Our moderators are instructed to be helpers, not adversaries of the posters. See rule #3. The staff positions are not paid, these are regular posters like everyone else here, they are here to use the extra software features to which they have access to assist people. For the unpaid part, as well as #2, they deserve a huge amount of respect. It's my honor to work with these people, and that includes having worked with the former staffers. You can assume they're not out to get anyone or have any agenda other than what's best for everyone here.
