Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

I kicked this bee's butt today. It landed on my neck and stung me, but while it was doing that, I grabbed the little bitch, pinched him, and threw him to the ground. Life ain't so pretty anymore for him. Although my neck is feeling a little heavy now. But I'm not the loser bee who got his ass kicked. This was a pretty big bee, probably one of the hive's finest. So they are out one of their best bees now.

How can they give Daisy, from Rock of Love, her own show, and Real/Chance their own show....but not give Mr. Boston his own show? I'd even put Entertainer about those ones in terms of who should get their own show. Although instead of Love, they could make it Entertainer's Employment Search.

Apparently Entertainer isn't the biggest loser though. Apparently 12-pack doesn't even have a car and is a big loser, while Entertainer at least has a car.

When is that essay due? If it has a later due date, I can probably still do it, since I should be done with my powerpoint project by around 8 tonight.

Cristoforo Colombo was his birth name actually, then he changed it to Cristóbal Colón to fit in better in Spain. :O

Today is his Day in the US. What is your thesis. Or whatever your format is.

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

Introduction: Christopher Columbus can be seen in many ways. However, while he has discovered “The New World”, he has also done a lot of wrong. With numerous counts of slavery towards Natives who have been living on that land for hundreds of years. He destroyed an ancient culture because he believed it is what God wanted. And he also started a widespread slave trade among the natives, trading off thousands of women and children. In no way, shape or form is Christopher Columbus a hero. Christopher Columbus did not do a single good deed in any of his four voyages in the late 1400's.

It's shitty, I know. You wanna help me fix it?

"who have been living on that land for hundreds of years."

Jeez. That many years?

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

I made a guess. I made this in one night. So please, if you feel something needs fixing, fix it lol.

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

Okay. I don't know my American history, so I guessed.

Don't start with the word "And".

With numerous counts of slavery towards Natives who have been living on that land for hundreds of years

Doesn't make much sense.

Now he didn't really "discover" the New World.

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

Historians have disagreements over how Christopher Columbus should be perceived. Columbus is often portrayed as this great hero who discovered the New World, but Columbus was actually a very evil man. There are numerous documentations of Columbus enslaving the natives, who have been living on and cultivating that land for hundreds of years. He spread the slave trade to the natives, trading off thousands of innocent women and children away from their families. He left an ancient civilization in ruins because he thought God wanted this as part of his divine plan. Columbus never did a single good deed on any of his four voyages and is clearly not a hero. He was an imperialist who blindly sailed into American shores. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut from time to time.

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

1st Paragraph: When Columbus accidentally found the “New World”, he decided that it was best to make assumptions and do what he wanted. His first sight of what he termed “Indians” was of a group of attractive, unclothed people. Speculation is that, to him, their nakedness represented a lack of culture, customs, and religion (Wilford 159). Columbus sees this as his chance, to do what he called “Spread the word of God”. Not taking any consideration to what the Natives have developed, he saw they could be easily exploited to do what he wanted. He believed that they would be easy to conquer because they appeared defenseless, easy to trick because they lacked experience in trade, and an easy source of profit because they could be enslaved (Fernandez-Armesto 83). He took no thought in to their language, ideals, culture or even their leaders. Their are many letters showing the arrogance of Columbus. One letter read, in so many words, “I have found many islands filled with people, and I have taken over as their highness...” Again, Columbus never stopped and thought if he could just come in to their land, take what he wanted and do what he wanted. These were not empty islands; they had Native peoples who have lived there for thousands of years only to be demeaned, destroyed and used for slave trading. All he wanted to do was create fame for himself and glorify Spain.

Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW)

There are multiple different perspectives from which Christopher Columbus can be viewed. He is praised as the founder of "The New World," a discovery which has earned him the title of "hero." However, while his geographical breakthrough is undoubtedly one of the most significant findings of all time, it does not justify some of his subsequent actions on the new land. After his discovery, Columbus enslaved the Natives who had inhabited the land for centuries upon centuries.

Okay. I'm bored. I have my own paper to write.

I'll use your thing JCB, as my conclusion. Is that alright?
