Why the hell is a college kid getting a $2,400 tattoo? I know MTV is paying these kids a shitload of money (I believe enough to cover college costs and then some), but that's such a waste of money.

It was spider webs, or some liney thing covering his entire arm.

He used money he was supposed to be paying his university bill with to pay for it. I know a lot of college students who get tattoos...but that's for $100 or so. You're an idiot if you're getting a $2,400 tattoo as a poor college student, and you're paying for it with money you need to use to pay your bill.
