Vintage Lundqvist in 3rd period

Chicago had only 2 regulation losses at home

Great effort tonight.

That's the Hank the Rangers need for the remainder of the season. He stood tall as the Rangers were getting blitzed. We can only hope this win is the catalyst for much better things in the second half.

What's better than luck............hard work and vintage Lundqvist
in the 3rd period.

Great win by the Rangers to move into 3rd place in the Metro or is it a bad thing because it will hurt their draft spot? Funny how you say you don't judge Chuck after making a judgement about those who don't agree with your assessment of the Rangers (fetal position? in your dreams maybe). I still think this team is better and will continue to improve, 6-3-1 in their last 10 games with mediocre play from Nash (though he's looked better the last 3 games), Stepan & Hank. The defense has had it drilled into their heads for years not to join the play by Torts and now have to adjust to AV's more aggressive style of keeping pucks in the zone and joining the rush. They put a little win 5 game streak together and they're sitting pretty.

The optimistic would say they have gotten bad 1st halfs from Lundqvist, Nash, and Callahan (hurt) and are learning a brand new system but are now 20-14-3 in their last 37

As Lundqvist, Nash and Kreider go, so will the Rangers

Once again you have confused me panzer. I don't give a damn how you or anyone is a fan...how does it affect my life? The reverse is not true though. There re many people on this board who want to judge and knock how someone is a fan, or act as if oh wait you do that...sorry that means you are not a good fan. I think that is comical.

I may never ever agree with you or 31, but guess what...you are Ranger fans and I don't sit here and say we disagree, so that means you are not a real fan or not a good fan. To each their own.

The issue with the board, and honestly most team boards are this way, is people focus WAY too much on what others say or feel and not nearly enough on the actual team and their own opinion. So it turns into a let's bicker and get into pointless petty arguments for no reason. We are all fans in here otherwise why would we be here. But instead of saying I disagree is what it is, things become oh you feel that we should be sellers, oh my god you are not a real fan and you are terrible. It is comical to me, but what can you do. To each their own.

Last night was a very good win, but guess what on that...it has happened before. Then we all feel good, and then they lay an egg the next game or two. And that is why they are a .500 team. We'll all sit here now and feel good about things. Say here comes a good roll with 4 straight at home. Would it really shock anyone if we come out terrible tomorrow night against the Stars or lose 3 of 4 at home? Let me see us take 6 of 8 points at home, which is very doable considering Dall and TB/Detroit should be 4 points, and then I'll say maybe we have turned a corner. We'll see how that goes.

And BTW...shout out to MDZ. I think he has played well the past few games, good for him. I think he has a hole in his stick sometimes, but outside of that he has played well recently, and we have needed it. Nicely done by him.

Chuck I don't think you can say you don't judge and don't want to bicker when you just ridiculed people by saying we are just "in the fetal position saying we're good over and over." I don't want to go at it with anybody either but that mischaracterization made me respond. Hopefully this win turns things around and puts everybody in a better mood.

As a wise man once said long ago....we move on now.

Amen, I am guilty of it also. I have bickered on here many times. Saying fetal position is not juding anyone. That is not a knock, it's a joking saying. On the flip side you can say these ready to jump ship with every loss guys. That wouldn't be a knock either IMO.

My bigger issue is when people try to act like this makes you not a real fan. Or that makes you lesser of a fan. All BS. Everyone will be a fan in their own way. Because you are a rosy fan who holds out hope even if logic and numbers say almost no shot (which I am NOT saying applies to this case I am speaking in general terms) doesn't make you a better or bigger fan than the guy who says look we are what we are IMO. To each their own.

So I am not juding anyone. Because I don't agree with someone doesn't mean I am right and they are wrong. Or I am a better or worse fan than the other person. We are all fans.

Bottom line to me is I see no reason to judge how big of a fan someone is. Or if someone is a better fan than someone else. Or bicker about someone elses opinion, which they are clearly entitled to. I have bickered in the past for sure, but I really want to stay away from it. I see no upside to doing it.

great thread, lol.

Great point by Panzer, also. Is this win good or bad? since we need to be sellers and this win puts us in a PO spot i'm guessing it's a bad win.

LET'S PRAY FOR A POINT, BOYS.

Great win. Let's see us shake the .500 deal and actually win a few more games in a row and get on a run. Don't turn around and get beat by Dallas tomorrow night, otherwise last night gets washed away. If we can get on a nice run here I think we'd all feel a lot better. And maybe we can climb up in the potential playoff standings.

The optimistic would say they have gotten bad 1st halfs from Lundqvist, Nash, and Callahan (hurt) and are learning a brand new system but are now 20-14-3 in their last 37

As Lundqvist, Nash and Kreider go, so will the Rangers

How did you manage to type this from a fetal position.

See, that post by 31 is a perfect example. No need to sink to his level. Stay above it. He is what he is, we all know that in here, so the rest of us will stay above it.

Keep doing you 31. We love ya fella.

Its all good, I don't really take too much on this board seriously

BTW, props to Prod for a full Jeter reference in 2014

imagine how this board would be if there were some opposition on here lmfao
Miss Jeter and his craziness

Great win. They played great and showed a lot of heart and intensity. Fun game to watch. Even the NBC dopes were actually complementary to the Rangers for the most part. I'm with Chuck here though. I need to see this happen for a period of time. While my heart says great, my eyes tell me they are not physically big and strong enough to do this every night. I hope I'm wrong and time will tell. Can't wait to see what happens Friday.

Fair enough, the team is super inconsistent but I think they are starting to get better. They need more scoring still but this team will be better in the 2nd half. We all know Lundqvist wont be this bad all year, he is too good. That alone will improve the team even if Talbot regresses to what his norm will be.

As I said earlier, this team will be as good as Hank, Nash and Kreider are in the 2nd half

Great win by the blueshirts and hope for a nice win streak now especially since I'm going to my first game at the garden in 10 years versus flyers sunday night thanks to my christmas present from my son. Rumor has it as the rangers were sitting in the locker room after the second period a brick fell down and hit Hank in the head. He came to and he remembered he is the best goalie in the game and played the 3rd period accordingly. By the way the first line of stepan, nash and kreider not on the score sheet but I like the pressure and ammount of good scoring chances they had and only a matter of time before they start filling up the net. All of a sudden Nash looks rejuvenated.

I mostly agree with you Dis. Those 3 are the keys for me, but when crunch time comes, the playoffs if we make it, and board play, puck control, and physicality becomes so important, I don't see it. Maybe some moves can change that, but I don't want to see a repeat of the ridiculous Clowe deal.

It's almost like we won the lottery. The Rangers are a whopping 2 games over .500. Wahoo!

It was encouraging we played with heart, and against a top team. I'm glad for that and it was fun to watch but I'm not deluding myself. There were still stretches they couldn't get out of their own zone and I still doubt they can play like this more than 1 or 2 games in a row. One game isn't going to change my view of the team, but I really enjoyed last night.
