Steve Zipay was asked...why isn't Yandel on the 1st pp unit...he basically said..no fucking clue...yet..here we go another pp opportunity...or lack of

So the defense falls asleep on the PK, let's give them a pass. But the offense fails to score on a PP let's crucify them? Why not treat both EQUALLY?? They both are fucking awful and it is ONE COACH responsible for both. I think it's obvious where the issue with our special teams is, but we refuse to blame the coaching staff.
 
Taking some time off from the boards. Hopefully the ship will get righted. I cannot take the craziness in here anymore. It is so over the top and out of control.

Hopefully Gorton will get this team so O...that is badly needed...in addition to fixing this awful PK...maybe we should have kept Stoll huh...:). PK has been a disgrace. That paired with the O has killed this team.

Anyway...hopefully things get turned around. We'll see.

You are the ONLY ONE who refuses to see that the defense is an issue. Everyone on this board agreed that the offense is awful. YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO THINKS THE DEFENSE IS A-OK. You're the ostrich of the board with your head buried in the sand. Enjoy your break from here, because, news flash, even if we score 3 goals in this game ITS STILL ONLY A TIE GAME. At some point, you need to look at this team AS A WHOLE and realize that from top to bottom this team is shit. Awful forwards, awful defense, awful special teams. And this is ALL AVs system now. These guys know his system. They've played it long enough and have been here for enough time that it's not new. At some point, you've got to wonder and look at a coachs track record. AV has a track record of RUINING goalies. Looks like that's continuing here.
 
Lets look at the reality of the situation with this team. They have four top six guys in Nash, Stepan, Hayes and Kreider all badly underachieving. If you think this roster could withstand that you're on another planet.

correct me if im wrong...but 2 of the 3 goals were PP goals for the devils...so that realy isn't on the defense core per say
 
It's not the defense's fault Stepan has been completely awful this season. It's not the defense's fault Hayes has been lost this season. It's not the defense's fault Kreider can't buy a clue and it's not the defense's fault Rick Nash is now a shell of himself.

ITS ABOUT SCHEME AND BEING SMART IN YOUR DZONE. NONE OF WHICH THIS TEAM EXCELS AT. So yes, the PK sucking is a DIRECT REFLECTION of the defensive effort of this ENTIRE TEAM (I'm not singling out the dmen, and I've been saying all season long that this team's defensive efforts are atrocious) sucking ass and them not having any fucking heart.
 
The dickless GM will continue sitting on his ass and wait until the ship gets righted somehow.

And you continue to think teams are sitting by their phone waiting to take on the Rangers problems while in return aiding them anyway they possibly can.
 
That's right Mess. Only the Rangers have injuries and guys underperforming. This team is constructed just how AV wants. Don't emphasize defense, push everything even if your dmen can't move the puck up and out of the zone properly and cough it up, and REFUSE to adjust. This scheme got old in the west and it's old in the east. Want to beat the Rangers? Forecheck and take away the boards out of the dzone. This team doesn't know what to do when those two things are done and AV refuses to adapt. You all want to make excuse after excuse for this team. Go ahead. The simple answer is, AV refuses to adjust and adapt his game plan to what the competition is doing and THAT is why our goals per game are dropping, and our GAA is rising.
 
This team blows. How many fucking times do I have to watch Girardi get beat by AHL schmucks who shouldn't even be in the NHL.

Please blow this team up and start rebuilding something better Gorton you asswipe.

No one is waiting to help this team. No one is sitting there trying to give the Rangers anything worthwhile for Yandle when they know the Rangers have their backs against the wall with him. The Rangers either are going to trade Yandle for complete garbage or lose him in free agency, and EVERY GM knows this and is playing hardball. Sather fucked up over the summer with Talbot and now they're gonna fuck up with Yandle in terms of what they've given up to get him.

Ive been saying this about AV all year. Oh wait, the guy took us to the cup finals and EC finals. he cant be judged on this season.

You're joking right? Who hell in their right mind thought this roster could withstand four top six guys playing like this? You have to step out of the AV hate zone for a second a take a logical look at things. You want a perfect defense to cover up for the fact that besides perhaps Brassard and JT Miller the forwards are clueless this year.
 
Last comment...7 of 9 games now we have 2 goals or fewer in regulation.
  • We ALL KNOW the D has not been perfect.
  • We ALL KNOW the D has to tighten up.
  • Everyone knows that...BUT the point I have made over and over again, and it gets turned into me saying the D should get a pass because all of the focus you guys put on the D GAME AFTER GAME AFTER GAME no matter how things go down, is the O is BY FAR the bigger issue...BY FAR.
The issue on this team is the PK since we cut Stoll has been a disgrace AND we don't score goals. That's reality. The D absolutely can tighten up, I couldn't agree more, but the D has been plenty good enough to win a lot of games the past month and we simply do not score goals.

1/2 our forward group is AHL level, and it's a joke. The Devs had 25 shots tonight...that is all, but our PP was terrible...our PK was terrible...and Hank let in one bad goal. That is not on the D, but I digress.

Whatever you say mess. Good coaches adjust and adapt. Maybe try Kreider on the opposite wing. Maybe try focusing back on the basics with this team and emphasize defense first and let the offense come from that. We might only be scoring 2 goals a game, but we're still in the top 5 in goals scored but are quickly dropping towards dead last in GAA. Our GAA is over 3. That means we need to score 4 goals a game to win. No one is doing that.

This team is fucked from top to bottom. Regardless of what we all think may or may not need to be done and/or change it isn't happening this season due to the lack of cap space and lack of moveable assests signed to a favorable contract that other teams actually want.
 
Maybe McIlrath can save them. Heck i'd take a pair of birch trees over the oversigned twins. And McDonagh, yike, he made the AS game?

So your position is that the play of Kreider, Stepan, Hayes and Nash are because of the coach? What about JT Miller and Brassard are they somehow immune to this so called awful coaching?
