I have no issues with OV as a player, but I'm sorry 11 years and no ECF's speaks for itself. Not all on him, but many good teams and nothing. Blow series all the time. Lose a ton of big games. Until he gets over that hump he will always have that hanging over him and an incomplete on his career.
 
Bishop is alot like Holtby and usually gives us problems, but they are a little green in some areas. Plus Stamkos and some of our old'friends'.

I'm with you Dis. Won't be easy, but I happen to think this was our biggest challenger in the East and said that before the series. I'll say NYR in 7 over TB, but I feel good about that series.

Maybe no Boyle, but Hunwick was solid.
 
yeah he backed it up alright. Making his golf plans as we speak. He did play a good game in the first then disappeared as usual. Gotta give him some credit.
 
Bishop is good, but he also let's in a lot of soft goals. Like 3 or 4 against Montreal.
 
OV played a very good game, but ZERO points in games 3-6. Team blows another 3-1 lead. Sorry but he has to take a hit for that. Just the way it works IMO.
 
Thank God for alcohol. Wonder how many teams in history have come back from down 3-1 two seasons in a row. Never thought this team would do that. It's not Rangers like. I wouldn't even predict the next series. Just hope Zucc is available for it.

Never had been done. Rangers are the first to do it.
 
OV did not play a good game for all three periods, chuck. As soon as the rangers made the adjustments he disappeared.
 
Ovechkins problem is he plays for the Caps. He's a great player and had a good gm tonight
 
One thing about Ovechkin that I have noticed. As great as he is does he make the players around him better?
 
Stepan earned his contract after the last 3 games. Nash is still a bumbling idiot. Maybe he can now join the club with their head out of their ass.
 
That's the point Mess. No one can EVER say he isn't a great player, but I'm sorry he cannot be treated as some all time great stud when he is 0-11 with regards to making the ECF even. His teams have won a Pres trophy. Won divisons. Had big series leads. And yet they failed time and time again.

That is a black mark on his career, has to be.

I agree with chuck. The guy is great regular season player, maybe one of the best ever but when it comes to post season, not even a single ECF...LOL
 
These NBC guys are funny man...LOL.

Now Boyle is Lidstrom. No matter what the Rangers do they will knock it.

Except for making plays for himself he's not a play maker.
 
I do kind of feel bad for OV now answering these questions again. I actually think he is a good dude, but he needs to get over that hump. The Caps are VERY good IMO, he will get there I think.
 
LOL just to update things. Dating back to the finals last year that's now 14 straight one goal games.
