At this point maybe you win 1 of the last 3, hopefully no more injuries, let the kids play and gain more experience, then we wait for the draft and the start of free agency. That is going to be a very exciting time for Ranger fans I think.

Buch may be first up on the move list. Huge steps forward this season, but he is the king of over passing, and he'll easily get over $5M per, if not $6M per, and we cannot pay him that. We have plenty of finesse and skill on the wings, he has to be part of a package deal. I have come around to say he cannot be here next year if we are to add some North-South grit players.

Panarin, Lafreniere, Kakko, Kravtsov, and Kreider is a great base 5 to start with on the wing. Add some skilled grit for the 6th top 9 winger spot.

Zib is one top 6 C. Strome has to go to add another legit top 6 C. Then you make a call on Chytil. Can you keep him for the 3rd line C, or does he have to go to add another legit top 6 C.

The 4th line base is Barron and maybe a Blackwell or a kid. Then we add another gritty physical 4th liner.

The D is set. Only question is what kids get moved (Jones, Lundkvist, other?), and do we add a vet LD to lead the kids.

Get it done Jeff and away we go.

I blame Gorton, JD, and Quinn. Why don't we have an enforcer? Renney had one, Torts had one, AV didn't but at least he had a vet team. How the youngest team in the league don't have Colton Orr? Colton Orr played hockey better than Howden, if anything he was more effective bringing energy. I hope this will be a lesson for the entire Rangers organization.

I don't know if you watched Postgame but Valy said that he texted Colton Orr and Orr said when he played against Wilson, he would go nowhere near him. He was scared. I just don't get it. With so many kids playing how can the management just not have a goon? Also, how was that not game misconduct? I don't have to describe what happened, we all saw it. This was probably the worst that I have seen since Holweg incident with that Islander player. I think it was Simon.

You misunderstood what I wrote. Colton Orr said Wilson would not go anywhere near Colton Orr. Wilson was scared of Colton Orr. Orr basically saying Wilson is a pussy, because he doesn't do this when other enforcers who are tougher than him are playing against him.

I've told imbeciles on OTG and HF for 2 years this team drafted and was way too European. I think next year there will be somebody on the 4th line that will police the team. JD and Gorton have a lot of work to do.

I'll say two things:

1. If the NHL doesn't stand up now and suspend Wilson for the remainder of the season, including the playoffs, they are a sham joke of a league, and they have zero credibility. POS Wilson grabbed Panarin by the hair, threw him to the ice, and pounded on him (and that is after he pounded on a prone Buch). This is where the rubber meets the road for the NHL IMO. A habitual offender, been suspended many times, beats down players, and injuries one of the leagues biggest stars for the remainder of the season (we all know the pathetic NHL standard is did the hit cause injury - well Panarin is out for the season). This is a HUGE moment for NHL credibility and fandom IMO.

2. If JD/Gorton don't see this as a call to arms, and absolutely 100% add some toughness and grit to this team for next season I am boycotting them and will do so until these guys are fired. You cannot allow this, and the Rangers don't have one player that strikes fear into opposed teams. We need to add 1 or 2 skilled gritty guys, and 1 tough SOB to not handle situations like this, but to help prevent them with his presence. It is an absolute must. Deal some of the prettiness and finesse for grit and toughness. I write again, Buch needs to go due to big raise upcoming, and our glut of finesse wingers.

This is where it all comes to a head for the NHL - are they serious or are they a joke.

Washington won the game 6-3 with none other than Tom Wilson getting the empty-netter. Then the Capitals social media account probably went a step too far with a tweet that seemed to revel in what should be a suspendible series of acts. After some sharp criticism, the Capitals deleted the tweet.

Smith has played well this year, give him credit. And he is clearly a team guy. No clue what Drury's plan is, and I have no faith in this organization anymore, but if they cannot find another vet LD in their price range this summer, they could do worse than bringing back Smith.
