He’s got talent, and he can’t be worse than some of the schmucks were putting out there.
 
I wanted the Rangers to draft him back when.
 
Sounds a little like a Zherdev/Frolov scenario but he's a little younger. Low cost of course which is worth a shot.
 
Also allows the team to move Kreider or Smith for picks or prospects that might not be quite ready.
 
Grew up in Staten Island, 33rd overall pick in 2019, 6;2" 210 lbs, unsure of grit factor but can play RW or LW, like you said can't be any worse
